I understand all that but when your a billion dollar Comp You would think that the feeder comp for NRL would be at a higher standard.

Pay the Next group of players that are not in the NRL top 25 a bit more keep them in the game.

DCE was sent to the QLD cup what are they dong better than the NSW Cup?

At the time Manly's feeder team was the Sunshine Coast. The rules have since been changed and NSW teams now have to have a NSW Cup feeder team

I agree, but remember the money has to come from somewhere and that somewhere is from the salaries of the absolute top players in the game. Do you really think they want to share? They are the face of the game - they actually bring in most of the NRL's money - and therefore they can (and do) demand as much of that money as they can get.

I think it was just inertia that made them better (as in, they used to be better and therefore continued to remain so). The NSW Cup has certainly improved since the NSW based NRL sides were forced to field their reserves in that competition.

Smith is still serving a 3 game suspension (IIRC) for the crusher tackle against the Knights.

If I'm not mistaken, Wenty would need to make the grand final for him to take part.

*Edit* Junior might actually be a possible inclusion...would be a huge gain as well.

I admit I don't watch the NSW Cup, I caught a bit of Wenty vs. Newcastle and was surprised at how SLOW the pace of the game was.

It is a huge step up to the NRL. You would think a cup side stacked with NRL experience would walk it in.

The weakness of the NSW Cup side for week two of the finals is a good indication of our injury toll through the year.

In team news, just the one change for Wenty with Pat Mataele being named in the second row to replace Pauli Pauli who has not qualified for the remainder of the finals series. One Eel who has qualified yet has not been named is Ryan Morgan, and although his status is unknown at present, if he is available, you would imagine that his services will be called upon for this vital clash.

He might be one of the injured trio Brad Arthur mentioned in the recent radio interview.

Stupid rules when a player like Pauli doesn't qualify for State Cup or HYC when you consider the fact that he didn't finish the year in the NRL team.

I probably won't be able to cover the game today and I don't think Fox will be broadcasting it as it clashes with the NRL main event.
