Keaton walkington-meads (KWM) is f**king huge. Great project for BA. Same goes with Mullet and Dan Keir. I liked both our Hookers, Rodwell and Perham.

Morretti hasn’t impressed me yet.

Perham is flashy Ponga lite. He’s a good backup and might see a bit of FG if Gutho plays off the bench in SOO. Opacic is sure happy with him today. He’s not an NRL player yet, but I like his fast feet and soft hands.

Gutherson will never see origin again imo. Would need a lot of injuries

There's two reasons they might've picked him despite Opacic being a better player:

1. Russell's development is a high priority
2. They don't want to break up combinations Blake has with players inside him at centre

We've seen enough of Opacic. He is nothing more then OK. When Penisini took his place the difference was like a breathe of fresh air. Opacic attack is not good enough. He needs a gap that any centre would go thru to make something happen. Even given a one on one chance he most times will never create anything.
Guys like Blake or Penisini if given those chances will more times then not make something happen.

We're comparing Opacic to Russell though, not to our starters.

Exactly. You've not seen Russel enough in a NRL side to compare him or what he can do. Sometimes players look better in NRL then NSW cup cause they have better players around them. And many times the reverse. They dominate NSW cup but aren't any good in the NRL.

I doubt N.Brown was in the top 3 forwards yesterday for example.

I think I have. His go forward hasn't been good enough for the wing, even this year in the trials. He can do everything else required of a winger, but hit ups are an important part of it.

From what i saw he rucked it out just fine before he got taken out by Campbell, played much better than Simonplod.

Look like BA liked my idea to get the kid to run the 2s by moving Captain Rankin to 1. Also worked out Perham cant catch.
I like the look of this side.

Perham is also next cab off the rank for first grade and is at least as likely to play centre as fullback. Interesting that Tuipulotu is back in Flegg, also playing centre.

I reckon if Marata fit he shifts to centre first. We are paper thin in the backs for the next few months. You'd expect to have someone miss atleast a game or two in that period.
Fingers crossed we do not have to many more injuries in the backline. It was paper thin before the season kicked off and is worse now with Russels injury

Why does Arthur need to run the team when that's not his role when he plays first grade? That said, more involvement is good for his development, and he is a better player than the part-timer Williams. He will most probably handle the ball more.

Whats his role but? If your a half who isn't running the game then your role is someone who adds some spark and creativity. I'll tell you now this kid has none and never will.
His best bet is to be an excellent game controlling half.

Well he created plenty of tries and linebreaks last year in reserve grade, and at such a young age. He won't ever play Origin but he might become a 100+ game first grader. He's got everything except line-breaking ability, which plenty of modern halves don't have.

Hey Gronky @Gronk
Is the Eels V Newtown game on Facebook TV this weekend? Im really excited to see Jake at 7 without Rankin running the show. We might finally get to see what he offers. Hopefully Williams takes a back seat.
Good luck Kid.
Probably not, cos they like to give all the teams a go.
