Didnt notice him injured. Scored a try. Looked good. Those stats surprise me. I also thought Hands played more minutes and Rein less. Sorry mate.

as you know, when someone has sat on the bench for a few weeks and doesn't get much game time, BA likes to get them back into Cup games so that they get 80 mins or so of footy

I thought Rodwell looked good until he went off injured.

Greig got pissed off at the Panthers player blatantly escorting him from tackling the ball carrier. He got knocked over, got up and slammed him. I thought it was worth a sin bin, not a send off. The Panthers committed the first offence and should have been penalised.

Mataele is a strong runner but has very poor lateral movement and let in two soft tries in the first half.

I didn't rate Ogden.

You used stats to come to a conclusion but where still uncertain so asked a logical question. Unfortunately no firm evidence has been provided and you are left wondering.

Am I right to assume because Tapau didn't come before 1 August deadline, that the club now won't be trying to sign him for next year as an aging bench forward (just to replace N Brown, if he signs elsewhere)?

It’s possible, but now Taupau might have less leverage because he isn’t doing us any favours this year. This is assuming he had to give something up for Manly to agree to release him from the rest of his contract.

I’m keen to see if our interest in him for next year is still there (or ever was). It might’ve just been the price we were willing to pay to get him for the rest of this year. It’s very exciting.
