After watching first grade today do you think he is way off first grade?

There's probably 4-5 players currently playing for Wenty that can offer more than what DeGois is going to provide for his 25 minutes at the back of the game.

In wenty you have goodal who would offer more than morgan in attack.Crooks looks ok too.
Ulesai is like a truck I don't rate.
Pauli-tepai and Fa'aasso are the only ones I can see that would improve our team.

ZDC at hooker and matterson maybe 2017 may provide something but aren't ready any time soon.

Lavaka is slow and not fussed by him either way.

We will have taka and semi back and Jnr Paulo. You could make a case for tepai-faasso and pauli if form is good. There is know one else in team that will help us out.

I reckon once Goodall is in first grade he will never look back.

Goodall in for take your pick, Folau or Morgan
Moeroa and Pauli back in. Moeroa to start, I think Gower gives us more when the defence is tiring. Pauli off bench again with a tiring defence both have offloads to bust the game open.
De Gois has to go as does Sef.

I don't see how Goodall is lazy tbh. Whenever he gets the ball he looks dangerous and he can only get the ball when it is given to him by the half aor when the play is directed down his side. If he goes looking for it and the ball switches to the left and he isn't there people will say he was out of position.

Can anyone explain why he is lazy to me?

Lazy usually applies to a player's effort off the ball, especially in defence.

He should also be working much harder hitting the ball out.

Someone needs to take him in hand because he has all the attributes.

He is more physically talented than anyone in our first grade backline yesterday I reckon but I couldn't pick him yet either.

Of the Wenty players clearly Ritchie, Pauli & Tepai were too good for reggies. ZDC looked zippy in the 9.

Lavaka took a nice high ball with two hands above his head.

Agree that Fabian is lazy, but has potential. Needs to find his angry face.

Other than that Ualesi & Matterson need work but are worth persevering.

Didn't see enough of Beau Henry to really comment.

The rest are nuffies.

Agree with most what you have said. But Ualesi looks very slow of the mark too me. I dont rate the few times i have seen. Too slow to get going.
Just for guys who dont see the reserves-ALVARO will not make first grade so dont worry about this kid.

I would like too say Crooks looks decent to me.He reads the defense well on when to rush up and hold back.He needs a bit more power in his game but i think he would do an ok job.

Goodal IMO would offer a lot more than Morgan.A few times one on one last night morgan just was chopped down.Goodal probably runs over the top or atleast makes an impact. His speed did suprise me.

ZDC also suprised me. Looked very sharp at hooker.

If Crooks is prepared to play reggies for another season or two to learn his craft and put on some beef, then I agree that he has potential.

We've been saying for ages that ZDC is a hooker. And that's because of he's running game.I can't believe they just realised this now. He has no idea at half.

He fits in with the current halves though, get in the opposition 20 and look confused.

9/14 is the only shot he has of first grade though.

Lazy usually applies to a player's effort off the ball, especially in defence.

Goodall doesn't appear to hide himself in defence. He's always pushing up in support, chases kicks and stays in the defensive line. He dropped off a couple of tackles yesterday when rushing out of the defensive line but he got enough contact on the player to prevent them making more metres.

I honestly can't see how Goodall is a lazy player, I reckon someone said it once and people are just hanging onto it as a reason why he isn't in first grade.

OK then. He doesn't get involved enough.
