Knock-on Effect NSW Cup - Eels Team

Yep hyped up way too soon..

I called it when he signed he wasn't going to get first crack at the riff.
He is coming back from an injury, so it was going to be hard to start at 6 round 1. He was solid yesterday in limited opportunities with the ball and mostly put his body infront when defending.
Cole is a much better defender than Blaize for sure, but give him time he will be right for first grade again.

If any coach can sort out Talagi, it's Ivan Cleary.

I'm backing him to be an above average First Grader at Penrith.

His defense was pretty crap in the first half yesterday touched the ball twice in the first 20.

Not inspiring.

True enough and he’s a decent attacking player, the real issue that you guys have to solve is defence. That’s been his question even from Harold Matts and up , even allowing for some serious health stuff. It was easier to cover for him in lower grades.

Hope he goes OK and improves in a new system. Will be an interesting watch that’s for sure.

Joshy Lynn crosses now. Nice work from Loizou & Carty who had drifted over to the opposite side put Miller-Stephen into the backfield. Lynn supports inside and the winger easily draws the magpies fullback for the try.
Eels 8 nil after 17mins

Almost a guaranteed try agst the Eels, opposition scrum 15 metres out, spread wide and a winger goes in untouched.

We don’t seem able to counter they or worse, utilise it ourselves. Prime example, Flegg yesterday, so many similar positioned scrums and didn’t get on the outside once.

Eels extend the lead through Dean Hawkins. A shift play at speed down our right side sees a well worked wrap around between Carty, Papali’i & Hawkins and the halfback proves too strong close to the line.
Eels up 14-4 after 37mins
