My young bloke has travelled south to watch the game and to throw something at Ricky. Say hi for me Staggs. He will be the good looking young bloke that looks like his Dad.

#PRODUCTIONVALUES

Although it was brief, I dug that intro package. Would be great to see more of it.

Forgot to mention but the game is taking place at Leichardt (as are all NSW Cup finals this weekend).

There was a very heavy downpour this morning and although the rain has since stopped the field is soaked.

Kelly fields a fairly shallow kick and is forced to take the hit up as a result. Maliota is used from the next play and takes a strong charge and earns the first penalty of the game. Solid stuff from the massive bookened.

Luke Kelly finds touch in Newcastle's half as Wenty begin to work the ball to the right from the left sideline.

Alvaro and Pauli both take carries before O'Malley centres the ball.

Kelly and Hunt link up down the right and Mackenzie down very well to take a tough pass and brings up the last tackle.

The first attacking kick of the game is a poor one and is taken in goals for a 20m restart.

Ma'afu concedes a penalty late in the count after slipping a hand between the legs. That one hurts as Newcastle find touch on Wenty's 30m line.

The left-edge of Wenty shoot up a aggressively with both Toutai and Faraimo coming up and their inside men do a great job of pushing across to cover it. Wenty hold Newcastle out and on the next play the Knights come up with an unforced error.

Wenty scrum 10m out from their goal line.

Simple stuff in this set as Maliota and Alvaro ruck it out. The latter draws a penalty for a dangerous tackle.

Alvaro takes the first hit up from the resumption of play before Jones runs a switch play from dummy half to bring the ball down the left edge.

Ma'afu and Alvaro are used to take the ball back to the right but the Magpies come up with an error when Pewhairangi throws a questionable cut out ball back to the left edge. Toutai can't get a good grab at it and turns the ball over.

Hunt secures the ball for Wenty after a good defensive set.

Wenty work the ball down their right edge and a handy run from Pauli mealy opens the edge up. He offloads to support but they can't take the ball cleanly and have to head back to retrieve it.

The Magpies put up a towering bomb that Mantaletto (sp) loses backwards but Wenty undo the pressure by giving away a penalty a couple of tackles later for a hand on the ball.

Newcastle swing down Wenty's right edge with numbers but Wenty mark up well and slide to contain the movement.

The Knights then stab a kick back in from the left-edge to the posts for their fullback who dives spectacularly to score just before the ball rolls dead. First points for the Knights.

Not much hustle from the Wenty defenders there to be honest.

The conversion is successful.

Newcastle lead Wenty 6-0

11min gone.

Hunt could've done better with his positioning and then effort to chase the kick, but not alot you can do about that

Newcastle continue to work the ball down Wenty's right edge as Pauli misses an attempted shot on Dobson. The Knights ruck it out to the halfway mark on their last before punching a low kick in down to the goal line where Hunt cleans the ball up.

Toutai rucks it out as Wenty go over halfway and Kelly bombs it on the last where it is taken in a great catch by Mantaletto (sp).

Newcastle burst through the line and Wenty have to scramble as teh Knights surge downfield. The Knights take the foot off the throat as Dobson's grubber is too heavy and rolls dead for a 20m restart.

Nice outside/inside ball to Hunt there - nearly puts him through the middle.

Pewhairangi takes the ball on the next play and rolls it in goals for a line drop out.

Better footy from Wenty there.

Pauli does pretty well to quickly clean up a messy drop out that takes a turn towards the sideline.

Wenty build for a big left edge shift as Kelly comes down said edge to throw a cut out to Faraimo. Bureta can't breach the line and Wenty have to come back to the right.

The play breaks down as Pauli looks for support but can't find anyone and Maliota has the charge it up the middle.

Kelly salvages somthing from the set though as he earns a line drop out of his own from a good grubber.

Looks like Wentworthville and the NRL team, spend about the same amount of time on plays in the oppositions 20. Both useless

PS - Although their last effort inside the opposition 20 wasnt too bad, at least they got a result

PPS - Actually I spoke too soon, they're back to dishing up crap...

Maliota and Pauli take the first carries of the set as Wenty look to come back down their left. Ma'afu runs an overs slant and powers over the line but is held up by two desperate defenders!

Ma'afu had men outside him but chose not to use them.

Time off as Pewhairangi recovers from a late hit.

Alvaro takes the hit up from the restart. Wenty then spin the ball to the right where Mackenzie is tackled before Kelly forces yet another line drop out.

Another shortish drop out from the Knights. Not sure if it is intentional or a miscue.

Kelly turns Maliota on the inside as he charges to the posts. The ball comes to Toutai down the left but play comes back for what seems to be a lifting tackle.

Wenty create an overlap down the right with some fast hands but Mackenzie loses the ball with just one final pass to make!

Wenty come up with nothing after camping on Newcastle's line.
