Exactly. The local comp isn’t where the best players come from. This is where they get the kids to make up the numbers in the rep teams. Most of them will never play first grade and the NRL clubs know it. But the handful of kids in each age group with potential need to play in a team of 17 players each week. Does it matter if they come from Rouse Hill or Wenty? It is irrelevant.

It is still used as a feeder. The most talented local kids are as likely to go there as any other big local club. The point is it’s not the local kids that make the difference, it’s the external recruits. Just ask the Roosters and Storm. Ask the Panthers ffs.

We are losing games but are in them. Had Lomax and Sivo played last night id say we win. 3 tries where left on the field cause of Russel/Tago.
We blew the Knights and Dogs games. And we had a bit of a chance against the Chooks. With Moses and Bryce back and Barrett coaching along with Hands we have been losing but more competitive. And we've had Hopgood,Kelma,Sivo,Simmonson all missing. Add those and Lomax and we pinch a few more games for sure.
The emergence of Guymer and Blaize is a blessing. They'll be far better in 2025. MA is to early to tell.
There might be a few more surprises like Brazel or Tuivati come next season.

That's good if it's still being used but it's not the exclusive club anymore.

Penrith shares around their juniors to the local teams and when I mean share I mean they coached their coaches (developed them) at all clubs and didn't tell the kids they needed to play for a certain weekend club.
