I cant be bothered laying it all out again with screenshots... but the try and the near-try ppl r blaming on Finau, was the result of being outside a rookie centre.. 1 was a 4on4 situation where Lawson charged full pelt out of the line.. didnt stop the pass.. and left an obvious 2on1 for Finau... the other was Lawson turning to tackle the decoy before realising his error and changing direction late.. but the damage was done.

Its fine, Lawson is learning a brand new game and a brand new position,... and hes going to make tonnes of these mistakes, but not fair to lay blame on Finau.. and a different story when Finau is outside an experienced centre who wont be baited.

Completely agree. He had the same issues playing outside Tamale who was horrible in defence at centre

We need to lock down Halangahu and Latu immediately beyond this year. Can probably get away with Nick T and Liu on devs for another year because they would be less on the radar but they’re keepers. For mine out of the young cup forwards, I wouldn’t care if we lost Egan and Webster. Egan is a high work rate back rower who does a lot of the little things well, but back rowers need to be exciting in attack. Halangahu and Nick T offer more on the edge. Liu, LPT and Stewart more in the middle than Webster. I thought Liu was the best prop out of the 4 on the weekend, including LPT.

on a side note I would also extend Finau. I just get the feeling that if we let him go after this year, he will be a star at another club that actually wants to play him in FG next year

Sloan will become a good winger.
I dont see it myself. He is too impatient, wants he has to have hands on the pill, testiment to the several times he went inside looking for it. One such foray led to a smart play when he followed the ball carrier then put himself into the perfect position to take the inside pass and speed away without a hand touching him. Conversely another inside play had him having to sprint to his wing to try to save a try, but he was left short. Ouch. No Sloan is a rover so wing does not suit him.

Yes as a priority. Both still green as grass but bursting with youthful enthusiasm and raw talent. When they blossom we want it with them wearing the RedV. So pull out zee finger BOD.
But how do we know if negotiations to extend the both of them are not already underway??
Or if the players and their managers along with the club have agreed to hold back on negotiations until April/May to see how they both perform at KOE Cup level??
Personally, I think both players want to stay and the club wants to keep them.

I suspect Liu has already jumped ahead of Fafita

Jet brought it and is only 20yrs old and is looking likely over the next couple years as a tall rangy prop

Same age as Hamish Stewart who more so played no13 last wknd.........yet Jet did kick returns and first and second hitups and handled it well ............
