The neutral venues don't make money by giving away free tickets either.Yeah...cause those 10236 crowds are a sure way to make money
:sarcasm:
All things considered, 10,000+ is a good result. Two teams travelling poorly, very little advertising... again.
Add to that the massive drought between home games, as well as the equally massive drought between wins.
Quite frankly, given those circumstances, having a crowd of supporters paying full price (no freebies) shows great commitment and above all, it shows that we aren't going away. Were you there?
As I mentioned, the neutral venue games have been known to give away free tickets, including to opposition supporters. They do as part of their promotion and yes, they have a lot more promotion. It's hard to compete with someone who is giving it away for free and spends more on advertising. Why do they do it?
Well, it's worrying when someone opens up a new shop in opposition to your old shop and starts undercutting you. They are usually doing it for one reason only. That is, to try and put you out of business. They aren't making money while this is going on but figure they have enough in their warchest to outlast the old shop. And what if some of your employees in the old shop have actually got into bed with the competition...? Well, what chance does the old shop have...
But as it turns out, people like the old shop and still go there. Even if they get the same product for free elsewhere. The reason for this? Because everytime they leave the old shop, they feel like winners.
Previous game we won was at Kogarah against the Sharks in round 12. Then we had that 7 game losing streak. Good to see that drought was broken yesterday... the next time we played at Kogarah.
Must be something in the water.
