Korbin Sims

Thought i'd get the ball rolling with this one. Looks like the Knights are prepared to release him, apparently the Dragons management are after him.
Latest I heard is that the Knights want to arrange a player swap and Jack de Belin's name came up. I don't believe this one bit but if it's true, this would be the stupidest move in some time by the club.

Anyway, thoughts on Korbin?

Talk up somebody as a must have player, yet he has done SFA career to date, is not a head liner, nor a big body nor an impact player.
Just another club footballer who will supposedly change our fortune.
As people know I am no real fan of JDB but the talk of him being a good swap for Korbin is ridiculous as they are pretty much on a par.
The talk in this forum is that the Vaughan signing has irked JDB so he wants to test the market and would be happy to go to the Knights, yet supposedly Korbin is being released by the Knights due to cap pressure so how can that scenario be correct?
If Masoe is no chance of playing get rid of him and get another "big body" because that's what everyone believed was necessary.

Agreed OT.
JDB for Korbin would be far too sideways. The swap doesn't make sense for a multitude of reasons, if the Knights really do need to relieve some cap pressure then they're going to have to let someone go without a swap.

My thoughts on Korbin are this..
He has an impact factor no doubt, but he's lazy and inconsistent. A bit like JDB, the word 'potential' has been used with him for some time. He's not some front line prop that a lot of people seem to think he is, in fact just having a browse through some Knights fan pages, they'd be happy to get rid of him. He doesn't even make it into a few Knight's fan's 2017 teams.

Sims has potential. He is a big, powerfull unit.
When we got Tariq and the rumours started about Korbin, i started paying a little more attention to him.
He isnt a bad player. He was surrounded by inexperience yet you could see he still busted his ass trying.
Id happily swap him for mathews and marketo and id even throw in AhMau as well.
If our forward pack plays to its potential in 2017, cause lets be real, we have a VERY good forward pack in 2017, Korbin will be an excellent addition.
He is no sam burgess in his prime but he is a very good footballer.

I've said it on JA and I will say it here, the money would be better spent elsewhere in the team in particular a halfback or most importantly, to get rid of Mary. So far in the middle we have JDB, Vaughan, Packer, Tariq and LAH. As back ups we can call upon Sele, Kerr and at a pinch Havili, Frizzell, Host, Matthews and Leilua. Purchasing another average prop will only serve to block the pathway to first grade for the young crop coming through.

Korbin would be no better or worse than JDB. The only reason to make the move would be to help our cap but I imagine they would be on similar money?

Another factor might be that the 2 Sims boys playing together may lift both of them? Although this didn't seem to work at the Knights.

Am not fussed either way to be honest. JDB has had enough time to rise to the next level and just hasn't done it. Maybe a fresh start is a good idea.

Yeah guys, stop saying that Korbin will change our fortunes. Especially all you guys who clearly said that!

I honestly wouldn't bother with Korbin.
Let's wait it out and go for a player like Matulino at the end of next year when we have some more cash to spend and we can offload some deadwood.

How could the Knights be over the cap
as the have a poor squad!
Had a lot of money tied up in some planky players - Hodkinson, Uate, Sione and Chanel Mata'utia. They have some good up and comers and aren't getting the most value out of Korbin.
