Yep, you know if a team will end up playing finals footy when you see a team like the Bulldogs and they definitely will end up in the top 4 and very likely minor premiers the way they are travelling. It just goes to show how the Dogs management are doing stuff to grow the team. If a player is failing they don't want him and somehow they are able to offload him without too much fuss and get an abler replacement. Good coaching by Ciraldo and his assistants mainly Jason Taylor helps a lot.

The two former Assistant coaches at the Panthers - Ciraldo and Webster are doing really well this year. They know what is needed to win premierships following their successful stints alongside Ivan Cleary. The salary cap has not done Penrith any favors and they could miss out on the top 8 this year..
Even if Penrith miss finals which I doubt.. and the Clearys achieve nothing for the rest of their careers that 4 in Row would have been enough of an achievement..

The best coach is Easily Bellamy and he hasn't won a comp back to back..

Until new coaches like Webster and Ciraldo do win a comp they haven't achieved anything of note..

Losing by a point is "just as bad" as losing by 20, you still lose. No closing out ability by anyone. Just do something for heavens sake. What instructions were Gutho and Cookie yelling out to the guys to get the job done. I knew that when Cook came back on we could not score to win the game.

I have some doubt about having Gutho and Cook as co-captains. Flanno has got to appoint Gutho to lead solely. Have the signings of Gutho, Cook and Holmes been truly good? I don't think so and throw in Ilias who was Cook's recommendation for the club to sign him. He hasn't got a clue about who is good nor does our recruitment man who is never, ever going to get the players that we need.

I have not written too much on this Forum lately as I am not really impressed with the way things are turning out for the club. Winning 3 out of 9 games so far points to a poor ending this year. To be honest, we just lack good players and good coaches - all of the good ones are at Belmore at the moment.
You certainly have the roster to get it done David. I think the team goes against logic at times, no better example than when they went to the sidelines and not pushing up the middle to prepare for the fieldgoal.
One thing that I can't work out, as I'm an outsider, is why did last weeks top performance by Egan, not cement his spot in the run on side?
He totally changed the trend of the game yesterday when he came on. He's a defensive weapon, scored a try and was in everything down that centre corridor.
Players like him tend to have lower mistakes rates as well, a traditional fwd. Just some thoughts.

It's a case of Flanno having an each way bet with the players he has available to him and what he sees as the best way to get the win. In hindsight Flanno could have put Egan on at the start and maybe those early points by the Warriors might have been nullified or with Egan on first, the Warriors score more?

In any case we have just been a tad unlucky with the outcomes of our games. There have been many clubs in years gone by that have been in the Dragons situation - just losing and end up not in the top 8. It happens most of the time to teams that just lack quality players that can close the games out. Lady luck with decisions going a clubs way most of the time also helps. Teams make handling mistakes and the Dragons do a lot of them so the run of play alters substantially during the game causing the other teams to capitalise and score.

The Tigers have had a few years like this but now that you have several quality players in the backs and forwards these better players are now helping to close the games out to win when in the past there weren't as many to do this. Your signings have certainly improved your results and the more confident the players become, the better your team will be placed on the ladder.

Yes, just remembered that the Tigers are playing the Storm and turned on Kayo to see the Storm go over to lead by 22-0. Don't give up on them Nutz, they could do a come from behind like a few teams have done this weekend, you just never know.

Kyle had a solid 2024 and his absence for the last 4 games was felt.
I must acknowledge that BUT...let's look at some vital facts:

1. He wasn't supposed to be a permanent halves player when he was brought over, more of a utility.
2. He was completely outclassed by his opposite number on ANZAC Day which led to his halves partner's sacking
3. He bombed several try opportunity against Tigers
4. He was completely devoid of ideas yesterday, in particular in the crucial final moments.
5. His Dad is the coach, and dads are dads. Shane said he would have no trouble dropping his son if warranted.

He must be dropped. Over to you coach.

He seems a nice enough kid and every now and then he puts in a good performance but he’s no super star. He’s been let go by each team he’s played for.
He didn’t even look good at the Rorters when they were at their peak a few years ago. Time to go back to Reggie’s and bring back Ilias to play alongside LKT or either another rookie.

Kyle Flanagan has not given our side any options in attacking plays not a Nrl player.
The Nsw cup players are performing each week and winning games under a structured coached team. Kyle has been coached under his daddy for 2 years and still hasn't improved choking the players around him has shown in close games has no idea to manage a win.

I think I'm the worst supporter in the history of Australian sport. Every team sport I follow turns to poop.
I think Wests Tigers and Saints need to pay me to stop following them.
My new team is the Zillmere Zebras.

the deeply sad, sick truth is, when we lose a few more, it might take ol Dad 9 or 10 more games to do this....but when we lose a good few more and the pressure is TOO much and Flanno Snr HAS to move....Liddle will be moved on and Kyle will simply be made hooker, FFS!!! you know its true.....

Spot on. Kyle is signed until the end of 2027 Liddle is as good as gone and it's bullshit. He deserves to be the starting 9 regardless of cooks captain status we have Gutho out there..This is the favouritism and horrible selections that are Flannos decisions.. He gives Finau a game then drops him cold, then drops Illias after signing him personally and using him as a scapegoat to protect Kyle from the media but all he has done is put the spotlight on. Kyle has been shit and there is hundreds of comments from real people that are seeing the same thing. He isn't a half, but he is Flannos son. Until Flanno goes Kyle will be in the 17. The new CEO would make many fans if he didn't resign Flanno and went with something fresh. Unless we make a massive run and top 8 of course but there is more chance we get our first spoon and thats not exaggerating.

When it dawns on you that you have the poor man’s Nathan Cleary, yes the chosen son of the coach, but will never get anywhere near his Penrith counterpart In talent nor achievements.
