Its a bit like that, and im so glad we got the win yesterday to atleast give us a bit of a break from the nonstop drivel... cause there is no doubt we are going to lose more than we win from here on out, brutal draw from here...could be really dark stuff.. esp without Toby and co on top of the others.. gonna be a tough slog from here.

Im almost positive Kyle wont be in our halves next year, its a 2025 problem, but because Flanno hasnt come out and articulated that, fans and media are just assuming Kyle is in the halves forever.

The last paragraph is 100% the situation. As you said, it's a 2025 problem and potentially a 26 problem IF we can't find a viable 7 in the meantime. That's why we need someone to fill the gap. Not the solution we want, but Kyle fills that hole.

Recruitment is the problem here. Not Kyle. Supporters are assuming he's one of the chosen halves. I don't believe that's the case.

A lack of desire to chase a proven half, Glover gone, a ready made whipping boy in Ilias, LKT a youngun finding his way in the NRL & Atkinson probably a 6 more than a 7 will ensue K F a spot in the halves for at least 2026

With Sexton, DCE and previously Fogarty on the market, why haven’t we made a move on either of them? It’s understandable how some fans are questioning Flanagan’s role in the team. He came over as a 14, then ended up being a 6 and is now our 7.
A lot of people don’t understand or don’t see what we have behind illas and Glover. We have a very talented kade reed playing Jersey flag at the moment and will make the transition to reserve grade next year. That’s why Glover was let go. With the above names mentioned in your comment that will only hold his progress if we sign one of them..
So let’s bite the bullet with kyle for 2026 then I do see him moving to 9/13 /14 once cook retires. Then Reed/Atkinson/Lkt to fight for spots in 2027

Firstly we don't know there is a lack of desire to chase a half. Maybe we have been but aren't getting the hits. Deardon was a very obvious miss. And we're looking for a 7. But tenures for established halves are going to be the problem. If the previous post is valid, DCE would only be a very short term solution (maybe a year at a significant price), Sexton and Fogarty would be ideal however tenure poses a problem here if we see Reed as our future. Both these players would want long term deals (Fogarty for 3 years with Manly) and at a reasonably hefty price. That creates issues with bringing Reed through or even retaining him.

Glover, by all accounts, isn't what we want. Another 6 and based on comments, is probably the least viable of what we currently have anyway.

Illias isn't a whipping boy. He just doesn't have the goods. Even Bennett told him he wasn't wanted at Bunnies. I suspect we bought him on the cheap with a hope that a change of environment might get the best out of him. And again, by all accounts, he's not setting the world on fire in reggies either.

LKT and Atkinson are both 6s. We need a 7. KF is a stop gap. That's it. As I said, recruitment is our issue and this should be been sorted earlier.

Whoever signed Ilias, was the biggest mistake, the parasites are out for blood. His manager will do anything to bring this club to its knees, the Illawarra BOD does a fantastic job at that. Lachlan Ilias cost the Dragons 6 premierships points, Parramatta, Souths and Warriors. Lachlan isn't the answer, Kyle gets my pick everyday of the week.
Lachlan was even playing against the Warriors

It seems we are going all in on this kid Reed, let’s hope he turns out to be a genuine first grade 7.
It still would have made some sense to bring in someone experienced like Fogarty or DCE for a few years to guide him. Penrith had Soward, Maloney and Wallace around at different periods when they were blooding Cleary and Luai.
