We are in desperate need of a recruitment consultant, and Stanley has been mentioned in other threads, but I think it should be a serious consideration, here's why:

- He clearly has an eye for talent
- He was instrumental in getting the Halangahu boys, Latu and Loko & I'm assuming Villiame Hikila in 2023
- Even this year, there have been good signings with Cooper hale and Charlie Boyle, who are two highly touted youngsters for SG Ball
- Jasais Ah Kee would be one of the most talented, if not the most talented player in his age group. Assuming another from out west as he plays his school footy for Patrician Brothers.

So Clearly he has the eye for talent, and the persuasion of the young players. I know its not the same as NRL, but if that can be translated into spotting the best players from England/Cup/Flegg, or even if a fraction of his persuasive power translates to those players, surely we are leaps and bound in front of our current position. Also, wouldnt come with the high price tag of established recrutiment managers which this tight ass club would lick their lips about

Some interesting observations and Kyle may well be the answer- or part of it. However, an article in last Wednesday's Daily Telegraph (May 7) "Cracking Codes to snare young guns" alerted me to a recruitment area where SGI may be lacking to have a regular focus.

One of conundrums I've wrestled with over the years is how the Roosters are not only successful in the NRL but also their pathways teams (Matthews, Ball and Flegg) are nearly always competitive- despite having a tiny local junior league. Part of answer is the Academy they've established on the Central Coast and, with a population of some 300,000 and a relatively young demographic in the northern areas of the Coast in particular, that is a smart move. However, it didn't answer the question totally for me- particularly where Polynesian players of the calibre of Joey Manu, and now gun backs/ forwards like Robert Toia, Wong and Whyte have come from.

This article went into depth about how some of the established and emerging NRL stars have come through the elite Rugby competitions running in NSW and Q'land. Players like Kalyn Ponga (Churchies Grammar in Brisbane) and Cameron Murray (Newington) would have been exposed to top level competition, including international competition, from an early age and have been identified as exceptional by NRL clubs. Of course, in the case of the Roosters it helps to have three such Rugby schools, Scots College (GPS) and Waverly and Cranbrook (CAS) in their backyard.

The disturbing part of the article however was that almost every Sydney NRL club had an elite Rugby talent currently in its pathways system (and some like the Roosters had multiple juniors) except for one club- you guessed it- SGI.

It's just another of the many one percenters this club could do better at. When our new CEO Watshisname starts work, this is one of the many areas he needs to look at.
