Is Stanley signed for 2014? If he is I'd say he has 1 more chance. If not he might have trouble getting another contract.

I meant another like 2012.

Here is some simple maths for you BM. A single digit number is lower than a double digit number unless it has one of these confusing '-' symbols in front of it.

Really sad to hear this. I hope he pulls through and can actually begin to enjoy his career sooner rather than later.

Really tough break for the kid.

Vastly overrated by Dragon fans though.
I must admit, whilst he is a good prospect with some good ball playing and defensive skills, I have never seen him as the 2nd coming like many have within our fanbase. Absolute tragedy for the kid though and hopefully he can bounce back. But as I've said earlier, losing him isn't going to make or break our season if the depth holds up.

to be fair he hasnt had too much of a go in the halves. he has been an average centre/full back but they are not his positions.

i only remember him playing in the halves twice, once at the end of 2010 when him and fien played in the halves against souths and had a good game. the other time he did his acl after about 10 minutes?

He was the starting halfback against the cowboys and lasted only a few minutes - quality minutes admittedly - but I can not remember the year. For a young guy he has been around the club for ages. Maybe someone else remembers the details?

If we're remembering the same game, it was a Sunday arvo and you guys had a host of injuries pre-game, he started/was to play at fullback and ended up carving us from the halves. I think it was 2010 but it might've been last year - in the midst of your grinding playing style days you put some points on us.

I know it's harsh but there comes a point where you have to question if you can resign him (like the knights with David Seage). I'm not sure i could offer him more than minimum salary until he actually plays some decent amount of time.

The St George Illawarra Dragons have confirmed utility Kyle Stanley will require a two-stage surgery to repair knee ligament damage that will rule him out of the 2013 season.
The Hurstville United junior had met with several specialists throughout the course of last week with his MRI scan and recommendations confirming he will require the surgery.
“The Dragons have decided today to proceed with a two-stage operation that will repair the injured ligament in Kyle’s knee,” said Dragons Performance Director Andrew Gray.
“As a result, it will be required that he spend an extended period away from the game.
“We believe that this process will give Kyle the best chance of making a full recovery which is our main priority at this time.”
Stanley, 21, slipped on a wet surface away from the training venue and re-injured his knee that was reconstructed earlier in the year.

If he was at my club, minimum wage or something close to it is all I would offer. To pay him more is a gamble on a relatively unproven, injury prone young player.

But im sure the Dragons are considering this, reminds me of Greg Waddel at Penrith, he never even made it close to FG though.

That's tragic for the kid - to not even have injured the knee on the field or in training. Not to mention what this does to his future earning capacity. He'd have to seriously carve it up injury-free in 2014 to even have a chance at making a career in the NRL from here on.

He just had his first child, too.
