Kyle & Greg Waddell must have run over the same Chinaman. Tough break for the kid, you would have to think it would be a difficult road back from here.

Fact: when you do the ACL your market value halves, twice and your really lucky to get a one year contract.

Kid needs to look for further career alternatives - the reality is no club will risk their salary cap on a player that can't make it on the paddock.

We have seen it before real talent stuffed up by chronic injuries where clubs can't afford to keep them.

Sad cause the kid is really talented and has a good attitude to the game.

While the injuries won't help a player maintain his value, Michael Gordon did his ACL last season and then his ankle this season and still managed to get his biggest contract yet for the 2013 season. He had barely any football behing him over the last 2 seasons and before 2010 missed half a season on average.

If Stanley comes back and looks even remotely like his old self he could still have clubs willing to fight for him even if it is a big gamble.

Sad news for the kid.

Don't agree with the assessment that it means the Dragons season not stacking up.

The Dragons fortunes lay with guys like Merrin, Weyman & Hunt staying fit and healthy. With the platform they can lay young Drinkwater may just prove to be the purchase of the off-season.

I am still willing to ship Moltzen to you in a shipping crate though

I dare say the club wouldn't risk it. Give him over a full year to recover completely, or maybe give him 2 or 3 games at the end of the season and risk blowing it out again... The decision is pretty straight forward.

We have a talented junior from Manly in Josh Drinkwater who'll likely play a significant role this season now. Or we have two talented fullbacks in Evander Cummins and Adam Quinlan who may get a shot at first grade now, and perhaps Beale may play a bit of 5/8 depending on how the season pans out. Absolute tragedy for Kyle, but I suspect it won't have as much impact impact as many in here would like to think. Our biggest issues last year was lack of variety in the forward pack and Hornby, both of those issues have been resolved, so overall we still have a much better squad. We'll also have a much better hooker rotation with two of the most promising juniors in the league in Rein and King (versus Young or Fien playing bitpart roles). A fit Stanley would have made it even better, but alas that isn't going to happen now.

Well said.

Sigh of relief and joy from Soward.

Before or after the injury, he was the only one guaranteed his spot for next season. Fien, Stanley and to a lesser extent Drinkwater were always going to battle it out for the other position.

For some reason the media and fans love to hate on him, but he's been one of, if not our most important player for nearly 4 years now. He may not look flash, but there are few better in the game at controlling the pace of a game and steering around the forwards like Soward does. He's just always needed some attacking support from the back or half alongside him, which he didn't get in 2012.

Just for completeness stagger, how many times has bunniesdouche team been that low over the same period? And yes I mean the rabbits, not the swans.

ey as much as I loathe the dragons and all they stand for including every man and woman and child that has ever uttered the words "go dragons"
...I would not like that quade bloke to go there.
He is bad news...the club has done great to get across a great image over the last few years

You love the Dragons, Carch.

For further clarification, the Dragons have finished 10th or below twice since 1999, the Rabbitohs have done it on 9 occasions (3 of those a wooden spoon) and thats missing the two years they got kicked out. I think Bunniesman may be a little confused.

Is Stanley signed for 2014? If he is I'd say he has 1 more chance. If not he might have trouble getting another contract.

He's also had sex at least 10 times. Maybe as many as 12 times. he's 6'2", muscualr and fights like nothing you've ever seen.

He also lives with his Mum and Dad and wears his sunglasses inside. At night.
