Kyle Stanley!

This thread is on Kyle Stanley and FMD couldnt believe when he was selected, Mary reckons he can play 6, 9 or 13, but he cant play any of those positions, for the Cutters either.

Off the top of my head I cant think who id throw on in his place (if I really wanted versatility), Garvey but I dont think hes allowed, Quinlan but I wouldnt pull off Rein to start him as a hooker.. id probably just use a 4th forward.
yeah i wouldnt want to pull off rein either!

Sign Mata'utia brothers get rid of Stanley and Green. Sign then NOW.

X2..............The Stanley affair keeps going I said this a long time ago that for some reason the board and coaching staff think he is going to be the Dragons Saviour..... It has not worked with him I know he has had it hard with injuries but it is time to let him go... Maybe an other club with different coaching and conditioning structures might give Kyle more time on the park and hope for him to finish off his career injury free............

If Creagh played Stanley would not have. He didnt have many minutes did he? Id rather play Harrison than Stanley.

Rein can't play 80 and Stanley is the closest we have to a utility. An outcome of poor squad management

it was only 2 seasons ago we had an abundance of hooker/utility options...
i cant believe how poor the squad management and recruitment has been since then.

Funny thing is Saints don't look to be signing a hooker or utility anytime soon. Is Witt signed for next season? He may have been bought for that reason.

Perhaps a career change is in order? Personal Trainer? Sorry but Dragons have shown way too much loyalty to Kyle, move on.

To be fair, losing Garvey to a drunk punch incident was a brutal blow.. he was the most promising of the 3 hookers we had.. and this was going to be his year to flourish..

As for Stanley, is his contract about up? Its certainly nothing personal with him, im sure hes lovely (the coaches seem to love him), but luck is what it is, without his speed/agility, he cant bring enough to the table for 1st grade, im sure hes aware of that too, credit to him for trying for as long as he has, and even trying to bulk up to play other positions.

McGregor mentioned his selection last week was because 'you have to reward the guys playing well for the cutters', good logic, but not valid in this scenario, because hes not killing it for the cutters either.

Kyle & Witt both off contract. I think Garvey is just stood down and I would expect him to be available next year. I don't have any info on whether Pumipi is signed for next year but I don't rate him as a long term solution

Garvey was found guilty on the assault charge, sentenced in september.

The NRL will take a dim view of this and with their latest zero tolerance policy I would be surprised if he plays again in the NRL anytime soon.

You could be right but it appears Packer is being courted by a few clubs and he's still in jail. I don't think Garvey's incident was anywhere near as bad as jumping on the guys head like Packer did but just the same Dragons dont have that sort of culture and Garvey screwed up big time. If we lose him so be it.

However when a player is deregistered I'd prefer they suspended the contract instead and if they are to come back then the original club should have 1st choice of having that contract fulfilled. Just my opinion

Its frustrating because tbh Garvey has been punished this year already, he hardly saw any quality gametime, and im sure it was unofficially due to the incident.. if there is another suspension handed down, there goes his 2015 season..

He doesnt deserve to love his career over 1 incident.

I think that the NRL announced only a couple of months ago that they were adopting a zero tolerance policy so Garvey may become the first victim of it especially with the One punch can kill support in the wider community .
