CRONULLA stalwart Lance Thompson will today announce his retirement after 13 years in first grade. The former Dragon will walk away from the game at a press conference at Cronulla headquarters at 2pm today.
The workaholic backrower has struggled to come back from a knee injury he sustaind early last year.
He was also diagnosed with Type One diabetes in what was a horror year for the 30-year-old.
Thompson made his debut for St George in 1995 as a 17-year-old schoolboy.
He went on to play 201 games for the Dragons over 10 years before being signed by Cronulla at the end of 2005.
He played 36 games for the Sharks from the 2006 season.

Should have played Origin at various times of his career. Very good player who will do well in the future as a player manager.
