Well....we've done a fair bit of beating around the bush. Talked about colours of jumpers,
Kiwi train on squad, Junior Kiwi train on squad and other bits and pieces....but no real
talk about the Warriors chances tomorrow arv....

For mine......they're short of a couple of key players, but I reckon they might spank
the Cowboys. Nth Qld are a bloody good side with some bloody good players, but I just
don't think it's their year.

I believe that Ivan Cleary has got this this team at their best....forget last week agin
the Eels....the players took that way too easy and they have learned their lesson.

Firstly, I think Willie Mason is off the mark on the "two man" comment... Aaron Payne is crafty, Paul Bowman is very experienced, Jason Smith likewise - there's a lot of blokes who have tasted Origin in that mob. I think the important thing is to play Bowen as if every time he gets the ball he intends to run. The amount of times teams have fallen off him on the left hand edge when he hits the ball at depth, slides across, makes the defence slide and then shows and slides through is phenomenal.

I think what may hit the Cowboys, either in this game or further along is the injuries to the forward pack, and more pertently, the defensive errors. I just can't see a team with a differential that bad go onto beat consistently a team like Melbourne or Manly. They'll give a few chances the Cowboys, it really add depends how the Warriors play. If they play square, end to end down the middle with the basic off the hip play to McKinnon, they will win. If they get nervous and try to go side to side like they did against Parramatta, they'll cough up possession and Payne, Thurston, Williams and Bowen will carve up.

... :pray::pray:

I tend to agree but neither a win or a loss would surprise me.

A lot rests on Priceys shoulders, he has to rally the troops.

last weeks game would/should have woken them up.

I think it's going to be a close game. But I have hope that Pricey and the boys will pull through and make us proud, even with the Cowgirls' sneaky tactics. I also have a feeling they're going to lose for that.

Im a Warriors passionist - and normaly like to view through rose coloured glasses's. However I really do feel we lack like skinner said a couple of key players. Even just having Ropati and Vatuvei back would make a huge Dynamic difference.

Cant see them getting there in the finals. However if there was one team I think we could knock over it is NQ.

So yep im gonna be praying !!!! But not getting my hopes up

TOP TEN REASONS THE WARRIORS WILL BEAT THE COWBOYS

10. Tony Archer will refuse to let Jason Smith bring his walking frame onto the field.

9. Ray Cashmere will take Fatty Vautin's advice and wear a cashmere jersey onto the field - and promptly melt into a thick puddle.

8. Johnathan Thurston will wear his Dally M Medal on the way to the ground, but as soon as the sun hits it he will explode.

7. The ball will get so hot that Simon Mannering will be forced to pass it.

6. Carl Webb will be determined to play, but because he can only hop around on one leg he'll be really easy to tackle.

5. Wade McKinnon has learnt ventriloquism, so every time Wade abuses the ref Matt Bowen will be sent to the sin bin.

4. We're playing at Dairy Farmers Stadium, so Ozbash will use his "inside connections" to spray chloroform around the Cowboys dressing room.

3. The Cowboys cheergirls have been preparing and will be armed with machine guns, looking for revenge ..... but sadly, they'll see Paul Bowman first.

2. Steve Price will celebrate breaking the "most metres in an NRL season" record in style by scoring his first-ever hat trick.

1. The Warriors will be so hot in their black jerseys that the Cowboys won't be able to tackle them - instead they'll run around trying to pat us down with damp towels.

Loved #5, LN.

For mine, the Warriors have to get 3 things right tomorrow, that's all. Do these 3 things right, and they'll win the game:

1. Forward supremacy. This phrase gets thrown about constantly. But the Warriors have a great chance to effect it. They have a massive experience advantage over the Cowboys pack, even if Carl webb plays. To not take advantage of this, will be throwing the game away. Price, Wiki, Luck & Swann have got to gain superiority over this young and inexperienced pack, that's the bottom line.

2. Kick to open pasture. Witt and Rovelli better have their GPS-guided, radar boots on. The last thing the Warriors want to do is continually kick the ball to Bowen on the full, or give him a kind bounce. The best thing the kickers can do is find the sideline, or the in-goal. Depriving Bowen of the ball as much as possible, will give the Warriors less running around, trying to contain Bowen and the other backs.

3. Support players, use them. There is a stat going around a lot, saying the Warriors are the #1 offloading team this season. They also have very handy support players in McKinnon, Rovelli and even Luck. It's time they used them more effectively. How many times do you see McKinnon go blazing past a player. If the Warriors are going to chance anything tomorrow afternoon, try passing it to one of those guys.

The Cowboys will have a very tough afternoon, if the Warriors did those 3 things well. We know the Warriors can defend and make metres, but all that matters is what's up on the scoreboard.

I feel more confident about this game than I did against the Eels. The Eels have a great new-age side, that is really giving everyone a shake up. I hope the Warriors took a lot out of that game and I hope they were watching the Bulldogs tonight. If the Warriors keep on relying solely on forward dominance, then they can follow the Bulldogs to where ever they're spending Mad Monday.

Lastly, I hope Cleary springs a surprise on us, regarding the team tomorrow. That team he named on Tuesday bores me, and we are not going to win a premiership with it. The Warriors definitely need another strike player. They cannot keep relying on Lauaki. They need a Fai, a Toimoana or an Ah Mau. Someone who is going to have the opposition saying "who the hell is this kid???". Then after the game, they should be saying "I wish we did some homework on that kid".

But, I have a gut feeling all the surprises we are going to get is... wait for it.... Gatis to start, Fien to the bench.

We ran the Eels close, in fact we should have won.

The Bulldogs ran the Cowboys close - twice!

The Eels beat the Bulldogs 25 - 6.

Us by 12 points - if we play to our potential.

I must say I'm along a similar mindset, would not be amazed either way. I have a gut feeling the Warriors will be massively fired up from last week. But then, anything less than totally fired up is going to have them beaten.

Personally, my gut feeling a couple of months ago was Sea Eagles/Eels final...and I still feel that way. Something tells me the Storm was going to get knocked out before the GF. But then my predictions are always crap:crazy:
I reckon we'll get through to next week

Nice one League Nut!

BTW, is that serious? Archer the Ref? Dunno if I really care anyway TBH anyway, was looking through the Ref list during the last round robin game and every single one of them has ****ed me off during the year, so really it doesn't matter anymore. Archer and Simpkins are probably the biggest ones for me, and Homeground Hampstead annoyed me as well. Manders bugged me too. And as for, oh **** it write all of them out of my will

11. Goal kicking. JT's a very good goal kicker, is Witt going to be a great goalkicker today?

10. Do what the Cowboys are going to do to Wadeo - kick to the corner and force him run infield.

9. Don't ever find Matt Bowen on the full with a kick - the guy is electric.

8. Kick pressure on Thurston - don't give him time to pull the strings

7. Gatis and Fien match whatever Payne and Faiumu bring from the PTB, or better.

6. Attack the Cowboys from one or two of the ruck. If we get some offloads away and they stick we'll be dangerous.

5. Support play. Bowen is a great defender, but if Ravs and Witty back up like they have been, we'll be fine.

4. Hold on to the ball. Complete our sets and make them play from their own half. They don't make as many metres as us upfield, especially in the forwards. Force them into errors - they are bound to happen.

3. Enjoy playing during the day. I know it will be hot, but pressure is not on us to win...well at least not as much as the 20,000 North Queenslanders wanting their heroes to win.

2. A big game from Wadeo. I love this guy, hopefully he keeps his emotions in check until he puts the ball over the tryline.

1. Enthusiasm. You've waited a whole season for it, don't give it away now.

I wish the boys the best of luck. For some reason, I think we could win comfortably if we play to our potential. If not, it's going to be a cliffhanger - hopefully we are stout if we are hanging on, or clinical we are chasing it.

GO THE WARRIORS!

I have seen him get hit late hard and high a number of times in the last few weeks, and it just seems to get him more annoyed than freaked. IMO we need to stop his running game moreso.
