Last time we scored 50+ in a game.

It was V the Warriors Sat 18th May 2013,when we won 62-6.

Nearly 3 years and 3 months later,not even a 50+ score.

And whats is more intriguing,is that from that side, there is only Moylan and Whare left.

Pretty barren run as far as consistency in scoring big points.

Hopefully this changes over the next few weeks...centre of excellence n' all.

Isaac John was the 5/8 and Walsh was half, thank you for making me remember that era... jeez

Further to that we were facing Matt Elliott who only recorded his 82 game of conceding over 50 points in one match, lets go a bit further back to August 2008 when we got smashed 74-12, im happy losing by 2 and in the odd golden point in a low scoring game if it means we are consistently in the game and the odd good game like the week before vs the broncos.. baby steps

In 2014 we had a horror year for injuries, but ground out win and made the top 4.
In 2015 we had just as bad a horror year for injuries, and failed.

Both years we had key positions missing, where your points generate from.

In 2016 we have had a team picked apart for various reasons, we sit prime to make the Semi's

You dont need to score 50 points to be successful, its nice, but we scored 62 in 2013 and ended up where?

I wouldn't say we are primed to make the semis. We are a chance of grabbing that 8th spot.

Our 2014 only had one spine player missing. Moylan, Soward and Segeyaro were fit most of the season and that's what carried us. A full strength backline helped too.

We had a number pf changes to Sowards halves partner. Wallace. John. Peachey. Cartwright and after they were all injured we finally landed on Will Smith.

This year Moylan is nowhere near that form. Soward was released. Segeyaro was released and Wallace has moved from 7 to 9. Our halves are now a teenager and a second rower... soon to be two players who were Under 20s last year. They wont even have 20 matches experience between them.

If we wanted to do anything this year we had to move Moylan to the halves. Not a second rower. Since that has happened his form at fullback has only confirmed he needs to be a half. If he stays at fullback he will lose his spot to a player who is safer at the back and actually runs the ball back.

Since Cleary came into the side our attack is second only to Canberra and by half a point a game with us gaining quickly lately. We are a good chance of finishing the season with the 2nd or 3rd best attacking record. Keep attacking like we are and 50 points won't be far off. It may even be Manly.

I've also noticed the difference Cleary is making to our attack. He is running rings around what either Soward / Wallace were achieving in the halves. We are also converting more tries.

If Cleary had been in the side from the start of the season (not blaming Griffin for not doing that, it would have been a bold move), we would have a lot more wins, and probably be top 4, based on the matches we would have won from goal kicking alone.

You couldn't throw a kid in at the start of the year. He needed a bit more seasoning.

You say we could have had a lot more wins, maybe top 4...he could have injured himself too when he wasn't physically ready.

The reason we are much better with Cleary vs Soward in the halves is because Cleary takes on the line so defenses have to either commit to him or hold back which he can exploit on either time.

Spot on. We have gone from no running halves, Wallace and Soward and now Cleary, Moylan and Cartwright will run if a gap appears and sometimes just to make sure the defence knows "we will run".

I was very, very opposed to starting the season with Wallace and Soward in the halves, but I would never suggested Cleary as a starter from game 1. It's worked out just fine in terms of his development.
