Latest IMG proposals for Super League

Chat with Keighley Cougars COO on being the club that has the biggest jump in IMG scoring. Ironic considering Keighley are the biggest opponents of the grading system!

2023: "this grading system is criminal! It is just going to intrench the top teams so the rest of us cannot compete. Nothing good will come of it"

2024: "So we have invested in facilities, fan engagement and outreach and we are doing better than ever and we are receiving direct recognition for it......"

If there is still any need to advocate for the grading system, just look at what this club has been pushed to do and the others (Leigh, Wakefield, Castleford) who have jumped up the ranks massively.

So just how thorough were IMG? Salford's troubles have been rampant for years.

That is my question too…

It is entirely possible to cook the books a bit, to make everything look ok. But would there be a penalty for lying in this IMG grading review?

Or maybe IMG saw it and thought it was not a huge problem…

Wonder if that’s Robbie Farah

Buying / investing in Salford is a better bet than London given he isn’t as rich as David Hughes

Moving from the willows really led the club into a downward spiral

They better hurry up and get their act together as I don't think the clubs will be so generous next year
Worry given its cash flow and now is the time they should be getting revenue from membership renewals and new kit merch sales. The stadium delay has hurt them in corporate sales but still.

HKR owner has always said we needed crowds of 9k+ to be sustainable. SL clubs on 4k crowd avg's are on borrowed time.

5k at the willows and they kept the bar and match day takings they seems to be a lot more stable

Big mistake moving out

The stadium has been poorly received by Salford fans

fine when it was part-time, or when SL grant was paying double. But now where clubs need a decent revenue stream to survive, seems not so much.
Reality is in the Willows they'd be paying for repairs and all the stuff clubs now need to get a SL grade.
Their crowds weren't any better at the willows in reality. 4-5k at Willows. In '23 they avg'd 5,200 and in '24 4,600. There's issues around location of new stadium but its a damn site better than the Willows for facilities.
The issue isnt the stadium. Its that they are trying to build fan and corporate interest in a region dominated by 2 of the biggest sporting clubs in the world.
