Why would the roosters pay the guy as much Tedesco? Or more? That would be beyond stupid. They offered what they thought he is worth and stuck to it, are they supposed to cave because he spits the dummy? I really don’t like the roosters at all but I think it’s ludicrous people are questioning their management for not bending over to Latrell on this. They know more about Latrell than anyone, they know more about winning than any other club. If they have decided he isn’t worth more than 800k to them I’ll give them the benefit.

Ok
My original comment was in regards to how good a player I reckon he is.
Money aside I think he is one of the best in the game .
That was all.

Any team willing to let a player that good go is crazy ...
My joint offers blokes the biggest contract in the history of the club and f**kers still bail.

He is one of the best in the game.
But ultimately he's letting himself go
Club offers him a large contract - he says no. Are they meant to keep upping it? What if he asks for 1.1M? 1.3M? At what point is the club no longer "letting" him go

Our offer would make him the highest paid centre in the comp.

Manu took 700k.

Not just a large contract but an offer to be the highest paid centre in the game.

You don't spend $1M based on comparing to equivalent players at other clubs.
You spend $1M based on your own roster.

Your 1, maybe 2 players on that money should be your 2 most important players.

At the Roosters, Latrell is #3 at best. Tedesco is more consistent, and Latrell seems to struggle with Keary feeding him.

At the Tigers or Titans, Latrell Mitchell would be with very little doubt the most important player on the roster. For them, he's worth more than 800k.
The big question is can he perform at the required level week in week out?

I find it hard to believe we gave Manu $700K. I am a big fan but he was relatively quiet for most of the season, as per usual he aimed up in the big games. I would be amazed if he got more than $600K.

This X1000

People saying 'The Roosters wouldnt offer over $800k, neither should the Tigers' is the worst type of arguement

The main thing the Tigers are lacking to become a Top 8 side is a strike back and a goal kicker. Latrell is both of those, plus a hugley marketable figure off the field. It would be stupid of the Tigers NOT to offer him that sort of money. Of course its a risk, but its also a risk not to get him and have another year of Corey Thompson being our biggest strike weapon.

And lets be serious, if the Tigers dont spend $900-$1mil on Latrell Mitchell they'll probably spend it on Connor Watson or someone ridiculous like that anyway.

Are the NRL manipulating the player market?

How long till Souths find out if they can get Mitchell with the Burgess money. It’s taking way too long

Imagine for a minute if he ended up at the Sharks. Even if he played centre and not FB how potent would your left and right be with LM on one side and Ramien on the other. It’d almost border on pornographic for sharkie supporters.

there must be a couple of old blokes taking up loads of cap room at the roosters that are replaceable before you let LM walk.

and yes to porn
