Never nice to see a bloke who was an incredible player for NSW shown the door but............

it gives me some hope that they've admitted what's been dished up is not good enough and they hopefully tear it all down and get it right this time.

The Brian Canavan review and recommendations should now be a thing of the past and thrown in the fire. Just how much money did that ridiculous review cost the NSWRL at the time???

Right combo of passion & experience.

But I'd be comfortable with Brad Fittler too. Can't believe there's talk it could be a club coach.

It was never reported that Hayne wanted Laurie gone. I was under the impression the NSW players wanted Laurie to return and felt they had let him down after the series loss.

Any player with half a brain will support the coach, until they are sacked. They do after all want to get picked for origin, so in the off chance he was still going to be there next season, he will remember those players calling for him to remain. You watch next season, all the players will be talking up the new coach and how he is the right person to coach NSW.

Whether he's a shit coach or not was not the point. You said the players wanted him back because they were crawling and I stated the players were genuine in wanting him to stay on because they liked him and felt he wasn't the problem. Whether he was a good coach or not is entirely different matter.
