Across the paddock, few of their players would look out of place in a rep jumper.

These Dragons would look better in a comfy cardigan than a rep jumper.

Ben Hornby, Ben kreagh, Ashton Sims, Reece Simmonds, Matt Cooper, Nathan Long, Brent Kite, Licoln Withers, Dean Young, David Howell.

Yes, a trial. The Raiders were worse than rubbish. Or perhaps it was an illusion, and all the missed tackles and dropped ball was planned so they could pratice their scrambling defence? Which was pathetic as well.

Or the Sharks losing 24-8 to the Dragons in last years trial, giving a nightmare glimpse of the poor season that was to come.

I actually think Matt Cooper is pretty decent and when Ben Hornby gets a go at 5/8 from time to time, he usually outplays Barrett...which isnt hard these days.

hhhmmm.
Well one of our respected forum statisticians is under the belief that when the Sharks do poorly in trials, we have good years, & vice versa.

But to cut to the chase, you are writing Canberra off for the season, already, after viewing just 1 trial?

Thats a big call for a team that I found the most mistake free & disciplined last year.

If you take the hatred glasses off, they have a very, very good squad.
They are nearly all rep players or very close, eg. fatso
We all knew how good Firman was/is.

There is nothing wrong with Hornby, actually Hornby is a very good player. Many times last year he carried that team when they should have gotten beaten by a lot more.

But at the end of the day, those names mentioned were really the lesser known 2 or 3 & some that have 2 games experience at the top.

Could have easily mentioned, Ryles. fatso, other big snorkel, Barret, timmins, Gasnier, blacklock etc.

I think Canberra will be minor premiers.

I think the Dragons players are over-rated. Until they can consistently lift at a club level week in and week out, I don't think they're deserving of the rep spots they somehow cling to. If they can find some consitency and keep everyone fit then they have the potential to clobber all comers, but I don't see it happening. I don't think they'll make the eight.

I don't go along with that Garbo.
When you have 3 rep players who have been at the same club for years, only having played their first game together last year, that is a setback no club can overcome.
They need to get their squad together & develop combinations( my new borrowed Raperism ;-) )

I think they have to look at their methods & find out why they get such horrific injury tolls. Have to be doing something wrong.

Laurie's comments on fox are slanted towards Dragons and Canberra, I prefer Wally lewis, there but they have given him the axe, he knows what he is talking about, and most of the time he gives the sharks a fair go, maybe that was his problem he was fair to the sharks and now he is goonnnnneee, i cant remember one commentator ever being openly supporting the sharks unlike daley with raider, vautin with manly sterling with parra, at least wally doesnt throw the broncos down our throat maybe he should have

Maybe he should have learnt how to finish a sentence. Or to actually have a topic when he is talking.
Worst commentator ever!
Made less sense than an 80 year old Rex Mossop.

Personally, (I hate St.Geo-Illa) I think they will be a big threat this year. I don't see them being minorpremiers, but they will be in the 8 IMO. I believe 2 sides that didn't make the 8 last year will be there this year. ;-) The 2 teams to miss out will be Melbourne and the Dogs.

On paper Saints are world beaters. But they will ALWAYS have injury concerns. For a start their number 1 prop is goonnnne for most of the season.
Timmins is like a tampon, in one week out for three.
Barett is even worse. So there goes half the salary cap, and the depth ,as last year would suggest , aint the greatest of the NRL
Its funny though with Saints, all their good players will be out all year then they limp into the semis and all the good players come back then their on fire, reach the GF then are left on the gound crying their eyes out like babies.
