There's a reason why i played first XV for Kings, you f**king maggot.

LOL yeah ok...good for you...and you've done what since?....

I'm not on here bagging a cyclist who has just had to ride thousands of KM in 3 weeks, busted his arse...lost by a minute...and had the balls to bag him.

My brother is a professional cyclist, represented his nation at the Commonwealth Games, and going to the Olympics. I'm the team manager of this team at the Olympics...Little bit bigger than GPS Yawnion. Take a hike you child.

wow GPS Rugby first 15 for Kings. Mate, you have got to confirm for us that you are having a laugh. Are you bragging about that as your sporting achievement in life? No, surely not, I am going to assume that you are having a laugh.

Well done to the spaniard. Terrific ride. It seemed that Cadel spent too much on the climb trying to keep up. I recon you cannot win without the team support. And unless Lotto get in probably two other very competitive riders and dump that Popovich disappointment then Cadel will probably struggle big time next year with some of these younger guys comming up such as Andy Schleck and Contador coming back.

I've been very scrappy with comments on French rugby league areas (missing most!) and may well be boring people stupid but another occurred the other day.

I think it was stage 18 that ended - and stage 19 that began - in Roanne.

Shortly after WWII, Roanne became one of the great rugby league clubs of not only France but the world.

Industrialist Claude Devernois compiled an outstanding team comprising much of the best post-War French talent. The likes of (future) 1951 Tour stars Brousse, Comes, Duffort, (and later) Crespo and Contrastin produced many outstanding performances rewarding Roanne with French Championships in 1947 and 1948.

This was no mean feat considering the remarkable Carcassonne (not visited on Le Tour this year) team of Puig-Aubert was also at its height in this period.

Gotta hand it to SBS - their coverage was magnificant -again. All the major sporting events should be covered by SBS. In fact, I am heading over to their web sit to pay tribute to them and the team.
CALIXTE, nice league/history lesson. I did not even know the France were ever a strong League country.

Cheers MuleEel.

I totally agree regarding the coverage by SBS. First class stuff.

I remember watching that stage where Sastre took the lead and thinking to myself "This is where the race will be won", as it turned out the Schleck brothers worked perfectly for the team, and that made all the difference.

There's a reason why i played first XV for Kings, you f**king maggot.

Because you're a private school toff, who couldn't make it into a decent league team?

Sastre was enormous, credit to him.

And hopefully Cadel isn't disappointed with second, he is a machine and hopefully he switches to a better team next year and wins the thing

Simmo, I thought the same thing. Sastre made the move and really Cadel did not make a move all tour. He probably did as well as he could without any support. Hopefully next year he will be a bit more agressive.
I am curious (as a recent convert to the charm of the tour) as too when was the last time a rider won the yellow jesey from a substandard team. Anyone got an answer to this?

I read that Cadel's injury was worse then made out to be, and it really took a lot out of him. That could be why he rode on the defensive the whole tour and just tried to match attacks rather than making any.

That's feasible

Although Sastre's performance in the time trial was one out of the box, Cadel definintely should have gone faster

Perhaps his fall and having to ride through the pyrenees and alps by hmself finally caught up with him

Cadel Evans has resigned with Silence Lotto for another two years. All the talk was that he would leave for an opportunity to ride with a stronger team. This means either his team has been strengthened or they have shown him the money. Anyone have any idea about who Silence Lotto has signed on to support Evans?
