I wonder if Simmons has ever been referred to as a fearless fullback... Hmm, might be best to let that one go through to the keeper;-)

2 things I love about the article.

1. The fact they need to bracket "stuart" as though "ricky" isn't obvious enough

2. They refer to Covell as one of the most improved wingers in the NRL. When are they starting the basis for comparison?

Also I am surprised Kearney is only 23, for some reason I thought he seemed older than that.

True, but he didn't start on the wing, he played mostly backrow for the Tigers I think and before that he was actually playing halfback for Tweed Heads!

nah, sorry I was talking about Covell, being regarded as one of the most improved wingers in the NRL.

I had never even heard of Kearney before we signed him. I think I see him as older than 23, is probably due to has maturity level he shows on the field. Doesn't seem to get frustrated or flustered, and I don't think I've seen him give away a penalty either.

I am surprised though this is his 6th year of NRL though.

hahahahahahaha

Oh Spide, you can fool some of the idiots some of the time but you can't fool any of the smart ones ever.

Do you really think "safe in defence" ONLY refers to tackles? Catching kicks is defensive. Killer's Peach like scoop ups off the ground were defensive as well. His calling of the defensive line from the back was obviously better than anything The Monz has dished up because there were NO holes? Maybe that's Kearney's advantage as a half playing fullback - he has vision.

Simmo's still waiting for his vision and I don't think it's got anything to do with Rugby League.

I think Spide is a bit upset his 2000 odd posts stating Simmons would be the walk up start to fullback, hasn't turned out that way at all.

Simmons is actually tasting positional pressure for the first time in his career. A contract year.
I guess we will find out if he is up to it, once & for all & settle this silly debate.

You're the one who keeps this "silly debate" as you call it alive by continually death riding him. Let's just wait and see how it pans out.

I have been waiting to see how it pans out since his 10th game. 3 seasons ago. I've had enough thanks, but obviously your happy with sharks mediocrity, so power to you.

I will guarantee it. I have been on here since before Simmo started first grade. When he did start, I saw potential. 10 games later, it was time to be dropped & he never was except for one absolute diabolical game.

Simmons will only play fullback in first grade again through injury. He is being considered as a centre/wing but will have to displace those in front of him.

Incidentally, the couple of bombs that Kearney didn't catch into the teeth of a 40 knot southerly buster ( for those posters who were not at the game), on both occasions he got to the ball and killed it preventing the Panthers from scoring. He did his job.
