Look at Western Suburbs, in 1963 Vs. St.George. Everyone in Rugby League knows that the Magpies had the game won, but thanks to Darcy Lawler (the referee) and the lack of sportsmanship from the Saints, his decision to allow play to continue when the Dragons' winger King was clearly held. It was later revealed that Lawler had money on Saints to win.

Do you see old Magpie supporters going in and abusing Dragons fans because of the mistakes and errors of the past? :roll: I think majority of Wests Tigers fans that are going in and verbal bashing the Souths froum is for one main reason. Jealousy. the fact that Souths are still a single entity, while both Balmain and the Magpies are not.

I envy Souths, but i also respect them. As a loyal ARL club, a Foundation club member like Balmain and Western Suburbs, and as well as standing up for what they believed in, and won. To hate Souths for the reasons you have stated are a joke. Especailly when comparing them to every other club that is still competing in the competition that joined Super League. They are the teams, that i hate and will never forgive or forget, as they contributed to the death of not only my beloved Magpies, but to other loyal Rugby League servants like your Tigers.

Souths did not contribute to the murder of our great clubs unlike the teams above, the Rabbitoh's tried to extend the hand during the later stages of '97, '98 and '99 asking both Balmain and Western Suburbs to stick with them. We are more than able to handle it and if it helps those with less developed brains to use a little text banter to develop and grow, we are happy to oblige. My point is that souths aren't the enemy. I do not disagree with the fact that they are a rival and a great one at that. But I celebrate that rivaly, I look forward to those matches. I think you should check who wanted to stay in the comp and if needed at our expense (see A Denton Footy show)... I hate south for more than the no show gf there is a hell of a lot more.. lol, I think tigger has been more consistant. I saw him bag souths on another thread. As for bagging wastes, for many years they were my second favourite club. I was very happy to see them make the finals a while ago and was a big fan of Andrew Leeds. If I was to choose sides if Balmain weren't around then Wests would be high up on the list of possible teams (but giving league up altogether would be the clear favourite). I hate teams like the roosters, the sharks and the bulldogs who have negatively affected Rugby League. I like hating wests but they haven't ever done the sport harm.

Another factor is the fact that we have merged with wests. My bitterness at no longer being Balmain often gets taken out on wests, I don't like being in a joint-venture. On top of this, it now seems like a competition between wests and Balmain concerning who can stab the other in the back first. It has made me less willing to like wests. I also don't rate their fans very highly. This isn't a criticism of the loyal fans but only having 7k show up to the final match doesn't make a big statement about the loyalty of magpie supporters. As much as yappy claims that campbelltown is crying out for a rugby league team, I think they have yet to be sold on the Magpies.

Finally, I don't think I have a bad relationship with wests fans. They support a bad team that is in the shits and I can respect that. I hate roosters fans and will insult them based on that hate. It is not the same for wests. I bag wests but if some dumb arse roosters fans decided to start critisizing them then I'd be forced to defend them. That, I believe, is the difference between my criticism of wests and other tigers fans criticism of souths. Most of my arguments with wests fans aren't personal and for that reason the diehards didn't beat the crap out of me while I sat alone on the hill with a whole bunch of westies getting on the piss (I was shocked to see magpie supporters consuming alchohol as well), the people critisizing souths fans seem to have stirred up a lot of hate in those fans. I think they have joined a bandwagon that simply dislikes souths because they are performing badly and I have no respect for that.
