Misty Mountain Hop for me.

And for those who weren't around but like real rock why not have a listen to The Sensational Alex Harvey Band (Weights Made of Lead) or Ten Years After (I'm Going Home live at Woodstock) ... those classics of few words and huge instrumentals ... In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida (Iron Butterfly), Green Grass & High Tides (The Outlaws).

when the world was young.

Am still loving the acoustic stuff, or as they call it 'unleaded". And all the No Quarter remixes from Algeria... you can hear where Kashmir came from by listening to No Quarter.

The Rain Song

Have you ever had the pleasure of hearing that off Barry Diament's remastered version of Houses of the Holy on good sound equipment? Actually I'd recommend getting all his remasters of Led Zep albums, they sound brilliant.

Ahh. I just cannot think of many songs better. One of my all times favourtes.
As for Zep, typical answer but I've always loved Stairway.
My personal favourite would have to be Black Dog though.
Black Dog and Whole lotta love signify the Zeppelin riff and sound.

i was given(on hard drive )a whole heap of zep outtakes recently.
some of it is really great to listen to - studio stuff with different lyrics to well known songs etc.
one of my favourites is a studio take of "black dog" where it's plainly apparent that jonesy is showing page the riff and he f**ks it up a few times.it made me smile knowing one of the best in the business had trouble with that riff-i certainly had real trouble learning it in my younger days(haven't tried lately-not game!).

Does anyone know where to find the version of Kashmir that was used for the NRL Finals and Four Nations entrance music in the 2010 season?

Trampled Underfoot - live Earls Court 1975 - watch the video and tell me I am wrong - - its absolutely dirty - play it watch it and root with it

Guess you had one to it.

Listening now, bit frenetic and flat.

They were f'gd.

Well it's somewhat difficult to say anything from their first 3 albums or Stairway is 'their best song'. It was a bit shattering in personal terms to know that one of your guitar heroes plagarised other peoples work.

And I'm not talking Airbourne doing AC/DC sort of copying, I'm talking about settling lawsuits out of court copying, and these are many of their well known tracks in dispute such as 'dazed and confused', 'whole lotta love' and 'stairway to heaven'. If the writing credits were just Plant and Page you can be sure significant parts were lifted

After IV they didn't tend to lift stuff, but it's not hard to see why they tended to be shunned from the festival circuit early in their career.

As far as Page also duffing Jones' riff in Black Dog, while being creative he was a notoriously sloppy player.
