Serious question. How many Sunday afternoon matches has Kogarah had the last few years?

I can only remember 1, which drew 14K against the Knights last year.
There are none this year.

Also, there hasn't been a sub 10K crowd at Kogarah since 2007.

The BIG difference is the quality of games.

You won't find too many Parra, Manly, Saints, Souths, Roosters or Dogs games at Leichhardt over that period. Actually, you won't find a Dogs game...

Leichhardt is in the inner city. You're not going to get any neutrals on the fringes of the city. At Leichhardt even in evening games you can have people rock up there who plan on partying in the city when the game is over.

It's all about location. Nobody is going to the edge of suburbia on a Saturday night unless they love one of the clubs playing.

I know people who don't follow the Tigers and rock up to Leichhardt whenever they play there Friday and Saturday nights.

Leichardt oval is a bit of a walk from public transport though. I think the nearest stop is lillyfield light rail (correct me if I'm wrong people who live there) the closest train station is petersham train station and that's about a k away or whatever.
