What i don't get is, we bought Morro to lessen Hindy's workload. Nothing changed. We bring back I Hindy to lessen Hindy's workload. And it goes up, some of the other forwards aren't pulling their wait simple as that. He made nearly twice as many tackles as anybody else tonight.

agree on that point

i just think his tackling workload wont go down anymore, even if we tried to, because he has to cover for other people in defence while also being the 1st or 2nd player there to take the ball up

i want him to have less of a workload in defence so he could last longer for us, but i think its the more we lose, the more he tries to put everything on his shoulders which leaves nothing in the tank for attack

Suity...at the moment, Hindy is one of those robotic backrowers with no penetration. I can't remember the last time he broke the line

To be honest, neither can I - hence my "he's not perfect" comment.
He was an absolutely awesome attacking player in his early years in first grade.
But that's not Hindy's f**king fault.

He's doing more defence than he needs to and zero attack, and giving away stupid penalties. I can understand his frustration but wtf is he going to do to help by tackling himself to a standstill and putting more pressure on us with his recent trend of 2 or 3 dumb penalties a game?

I tend to agree about the stupid penalties.
My heart was in my mouth several times tonight - actually every time he lifted a guys leg. It is a very stupid ploy that has crept into his game and it may cost him dearly one day if he ain't careful.

He HAS turned into a robot. I think that came from covering for too many lazy bastards (eg. Vella) over the years.

I remember at the beginning of the season the hoopla about returning him to being a running backrower again.
That worked, until we started losing again.
I just think his workaholic mentality is in his blood and heart. His brother ain't much different but is on a different level.

He is what he is. If you want a scapegoat for an attacking forward who does f**k all, look no further than Wagon. And Wagon doesn't make 50 - 60 tackles a game.

We need the big angry Islanders in our team - Wellar or Paulo. We need some f**king grunt!!

I think Hindy is partly to blame, as are his team mates and the coach. Hindy can put his foot down and say he's not doing it anymore, his team mates can show some commitment for a change and Hages can flat out tell Hindy he is to play wide. He's still devastating out there, we saw that earlier in the year. So I think there is blame enough for everyone, and someone needs to stand up say enough is enough...

That's actually a really good point. It just seems like Hindy likes tackling more than making hit-ups these days. Which is a shame, because we've all seen just what he can do.

I think he needs to start trusting his inside men - trust Robbo, Ian, Wags, etc. that they will complete the tackle.

Completely agree.

In my opinion, our "Hindy is a tacklebot" problem would go a long way to being solved if we had more aggressive props on our squad. If those guys, rather than Hindmarsh, could take the first and second hit-ups off kick receptions and make it effective, I believe we'd see the best out of Hindy once again.

It seems little surprise to me that we were doing rather well when Cannings and Fui were both in the team, and even when Hauraki and Paulo made cameos.

MORE ANGRY ISLANDERS, PLEASE!

Hagan was supposed to make hindy attack more and tackle less but it's been the opposite.

He can't be changed PM, he wants to play that way obviously or simply cant help himself, no coach will change him now.

It worked for a while there. It just seems, to me at least, that we need to have both Cannings and Fui in the team. Maybe not play them both at the same time, but they definitely both need to be there.

Next year, it should be Paulo. It just seems that with two big, angry forwards carting the ball up forward, it relaxes Hindy enough to let him play his natural, more balanced game.

But there are Doctors in Taiwan that will ;-)

Hindy will also be able to be head cheerleader aswell after the end of season trip this year

Brett Kimmorley made a valid point on the Triple M coverage last night. He said that if Hindy is going to make 60 tackles a game then why do we constantly make him try and hit the ball up. He said we should give him a rest in attack.

Hindmarsh has become a tackling machine but he has no real attack. Maybe instead of buying players to reduce his tackling we should have bought some attacking mongrel to compliment him.

We really struggle when we play with N. Hindmarsh, I. Hindmarsh, Wagon and Robinson all at once.

I think at least one needs to make way for Paulo, Hauraki or even Cannings.

Two points:

#1 - their first try was Hindy's fault. PJ and he were markers, and PJ went the way he was supposed to. Hindy, because he absolutely can't help himself, went the same way, and Gasnier was able to come back through the middle of the ruck from the side that Hindy should have been covering. HE has to learn that there is a defensive structure, and that you don't just chase the ball around all game. Both Smith and seemingly now Hagan have been guilty of allowing him to do this because sometimes it helps to shut down some attacking raids.

#2 - How many second-rowers really make good yards when the front rowers don't? It's the props job to get the team on a roll and we are playing with too many backrowers. I understand why he did it (defence) but it seems that Hagan hasn't learnt from our efforts towards the end of last year, when we were forced to play with too many backrowers and we were belted. The backrowers are struggling because they have to dig too deep and try and do things they aren't physically capable of. Maybe I.Hindy's and/or Robbo's injuries will force his hand, but Hagan needs to have the balls to drop one of the veterans. It would be a difficult thing to do in the team environment, but it needs to be done.

Anyone who can find fault in Nathan Hindmarsh and not be taking the piss needs their collective heads read.

You guys are freeking crazy.

I understand that you want results, but to start bagging Hindy is downright laughable.

That's not the point mate.

Noone is suggesting he should be dropped. They are talking about how the team - Hindy included - can improve.
