It needs a poll. Who could be bothered to go through every post in this thread and count the number of times a players was voted for.

Don't worry your self, my lovely PA is onto it.

Lets just see after one week which fullback has the most votes, f**k me it's not that hard a task is it?
Then we'll get onto other positions.

My vote goes to Lockyer, simply the best I have ever seen. I wont try and make myself look good in some peoples eyes by mentioning Langlands or Churchill.

In a game that is 100 times faster than it was when the above two played, Lockyer is a great, he had it all as a fullback. Since his second year no one has rivalled him as a fullback. In a comp that featured some pretty impresive number 1's since Lockyer debuted, thats an impresive record.

Didn't Langlands play during the Dragons 11 premiership run?

Works both ways champ, how would Lockyear have gone if he had to work a full time job and then motivate himself to train part time after work ? How would he have gone in a much tougher era getting bashed week in week out ?

How would Chang and Churchill have gone with all the advances in training and the ability to play footy full time ?

You are too quick to dismiss the older players because the game is 100 times quicker, I have a hunch your selection of Lockyer has a lot to do with the club he plays for and your claims that he has been unrivalled since 1996 are just laughable.

Yes I realise it goes both ways, there are alot of things to consider, like the fact Langlands played in a team the won 11 straight titles, a team that bought how many players? A team that was unrivalled in it's time for 11 years.

And please who has rivalled Lockyer in the last 7 or 8 years? maybe someone early on in his career, but in the last 6 or 7, no one came close to Lockyer as a Fullback, and it has nothing to do with the club he plays for.

I think people are too quick to dismiss modern players because they didn't play 40+ years ago.

Lockyer is a great player.......isn't ready for an alltime side yet.....unchallenged since 99 is more accurate

Who was as good as him in 98? Nobody, forget 97 because of the split ( forgot about that ).

What because he is still playing he isn't ready?

he made his debut for Australia in 98 and had a shocker, so in essence he wasn't invincible until 99......Langlands and Churchill were awesome players.....Lockyer doesn't just smile and walk past them

What hasn't Lockyer done from Fullback? Forget what he still has ahead of him, because thats in the number 6.

You are gonna judge him on 1 game? What about his next game in the rep jumper where he was awesome? and every rep game since? I watched Lockyer in a well beaten team rival Andrew Johns as the best player on the field in last years origin series.
