Keep him in first grade. He deserves his spot.

RLW have voted him in twice in the team of the week. He must be doing something right.

Well in the end a reasonable victory for common sense. Most Sharks supporters think Dave Simmons should be on the wing for the Cronulla first Grade side. Some such as Shireking still believe players such as McGoldrick (Who’s stats made him the worst defensive centre in the 2004 NRL comp) and Nathan Merritt (has been given many chances to cement a spot in the first grade side at two clubs, one of those clubs being the pitiful South Sydney) should be in the side instead of David Simmons.
Luckily the people that count including Stuart Raper thinks he should stay in the side.
The good news is for all of us if Mellor or Simmons get hurt we have two players with substantial first grade experience to fill in. Lets hope if they get another chance they take it with two hands.

No. 42 people out of 77 that voted on an internet forum think so. Some of them are not even Sharks fans. Gonna be a small crowd at the next game if this is most Sharks supporters huh??

You've drawn a long bow there Mightless One.

Check this out, only 2 months old as well The definitive worst winger poll

So Da Vinci from that statement Im guessing you dont think Simmons should be in firsts? If this is correct, well, it speaks for itself doesnt it.

Simmons deserves his spot, defensively him and Vagana have gelled well, and in attack hes always been good - the fact he is a fullback has made him lethal on the end of Noddys kicks........when used against inpenetrable defences

Dave Simmons.
First grade Winger.
Game callers say he carries the ball like a hand bag.
Sharks supporters say he runs like a girl.
His defensive record for his career his appauling, possibly the worst of any winger ever in the top grade.

Who ever has had the reasonable judgement to say that he is not up to first grade standards, congratulations. You have picked a design flaw that designers cannot see, & the buying public refuse to see, because , "hey, it looks good".

Our hopes will be resting on Simmons come finals time. There will not be many points in the game & we will be counting on him to score them or stop them.
this is because he is identified by every club in the NRL as the Sharks major weakness.

And for the record, Mighty spuds & sutho fairy, get out there you faggotts & play league you little bottom kissing piss ants.

You're darn tootin' I don't! Yeah it speaks for itself alright. It says I don't think he should be in firsts.

Defensively, Bailey and Vagana have worked out a combination which prevents any play getting to Simmons. Left alone he is like Gretel with no crumbs to follow with Hansel on the job with another girl! Totally lost!

Lethal huh? How many tries has he got off Noddy's kicks? If you'd ever played the game you'd know that tries like the one he got against the Raiders are scored so often because the attacking player has every advantage. He did well, he did his job. That's all. Nothing about it that makes him the Messiah. Covell has done it as well. Short little El Masri does it at will. Sing. Grothe. The list is endless and you know why? Because it is a basic skill for a winger no more, no less.

78 is not really an adequate cross section of Sharks fans to make the sweeping statment Spudnik made that "most" Sharks supporters etc

You and your multiple personalities take up 50 people!! ;)

Honestly, its uncalled for and getting very tiresome and besides, there is a thread where that can be posted which wont destroy decent threads like this!

Da Vinci, I cant honestly remember when Covell contested the high ball and got a try, enlighten me........
On his defence, I think he has shown especially in the last two weeks that his defence is up to scratch!

Also, I dont say he is the messiah, like people say he will be a rep player one day (pressumably to stir the pot), but he is a reasonable first grade selection.

Lastly, about the poll not being a good indication, it is evident that supporters think he SHOULD be in firsts. The poll I ran had a % of like 60 - 40 in favour, and now this one. In both threads, many shark supporters have stated he deserves his spot........for now!

Covell contested a high ball and scored a try against the Bulldogs, Sutho Sharks.

Simmo is developing into a handy winger, and deserves his spot in first grade.

Oh yea, but still, that was like 20m out wasnt it, not identical to Simmo's jump in heavy traffic. Nevertheless, he deserves his spot.

I wander what it would take for Simmons to prove himself in 1sts. Id say make a try saving tackle, but hes already done that on 4 occasions, Id say score a couple of tries, but hes already done that many times............what does the man have to do!?!?

Man you make my laugh, keep digging! Your comments show your opinion of the coach, but at the end of the day you can bitch all complain all you want because Simmons is in the team!

As for your statement of get out there and play league, once again I laugh, I played since year 3 at Burranner Bay Primary with Adam Dykes at 5/8, then played for woolooware High again with Adam Dykes and then finally for Endeavour Sports High!

As for you, playing with yourself doesn't count as a sport!
