Thought the same thing, even if 1/3 of these NZedders turn out to be top grade material, the future for NZ league and the 2008 WC is looking good.Good on the Sharks for not only boosting their own player stocks, but also effectively boosting the kiwi stocks.

If NZ gets a 2nd NRL team, they will be freakingly tough to beat, and then we may start to see intnls between Oz and NZ attracting crowds to match the Bleedingslow Cup.

The NRL clubs should bring down each a couple of top PNG players(exclusive of the salary cap),and give them a run in premier league. Its pretty hard to judge talent, when they are tucked away thousands of kms from the NRL.These guys are tough and can take the hits, they are clever with the hands, the defensive pattern is the problem.

Its good to see this young guys getting pick up by the NRL clubs because the streets of NZ are full of kids with nothing to do .

No surprise, a union expert like taipan will always compare anything league with the biggest event in NZ sports .
Its Bledisloe taipan and there's a union forum here if you wanna talk about it mate .:)

Mate I was being complimentary to the crowds union gets to their Nz v Oz test at Telstra stadium.I want rugby league too get the same.Geez mate open your eyes.
Other than that I wasnt talking about your code,I am concerned that in the future league gets tests where NZ becomes the "bogey man".PW you are reading into my comments ,want you want, not what I said.

Bigger crowds would be good, but we definitely don't want the Bledisloe's TV ratings! They are terrible compared to the Kanagroos vs Kiwis.

Unfortunately for you the bloodyslow ratings have dropped dramatically over the last two seasons. A worrying trend no doubt.

Taipan...I like your thoughts about recruiting from PNG (salary exempt). Having played with a lot of PNG boys in league and union, you are spot on. Great with their hands and can take big hits. Defence isn't a problem if you sit down with them and show them where the channels are.

Some of the biggest hits I have seen dealt out were from PNG lads.

You won't like it after you check it properly.

Union has nose-dived since 2003.

I see that the Bledisloe Cup ratings in 2003 1.2 million and in 2004 it went up 1.53 million .

Thats the biggest Nose-dived I've seen in my life .

hahahahahahaha

You read the 7 corporate links didn't you?

I knew you'd do that.

Did you wonder why you couldn't find one for 2005?

The 2004 figures are the peak and you still don't know the difference between a peak and an average. BTW, I wouldn't mind betting that the 2003 figures were the average.

To put it into perspective, SOO #2 peaked at 1.9 million from Sydney and Brisbane only. Not all 5 Oztam cities like the Bledisloe....

Just go to OZTAM and post your figures for the Bledisloe for the past 3 years, I'm betting that you won't because you'll be embarrassed.... again.

Go on, post them, I dare you.

Hey guys, guess what. Rugby league is a more popular sport than rugby union in New South Wales, Queensland, and PNG. And maybe a couple of minor European countries like Serbia and.........oh, well. Just Serbia.

On the other hand, rugby union is more popular than rugby league everywhere else in the world, by any measure you would like to use.

So keep on debating trivia about FTA ratings in Eastern Australia. All that proves is that league is more popular in Eastern Australia. Congratulations.:D

And when you talk about local ratings for games like the Bledisloe, please bear in mind that it is actually televised live to a number of other countries throughout the world, apart from Australia......a television audience which rugby league would give its right arm for.

You've been dared to prove it wrong and you either won't or can't.

I know which one it is.....

SOO v International Rugby in Australia.....

Yeah, I mean Bledisloe really kicks arse in the ratings in NZ and and and and and and and ..... ROFL

You've got massive problems if you think Bledisloe has "worldwide" ratings that any major sport in any civilized country salivates over.

By the way, you're a Union lover on a Rugby League forum and you're only allowed to post here because management like the people here to have someone to play with.

Since when does a plaything get to decide what to debate and where?
