19 July, 2004 --- Sevens coverage of The Bledisloe Cup has dominated football television coverage, delivering a peak audience of 1,530,900 viewers to out-rank the National Rugby League and Australian Football League over the July 17-18 weekend.
The Bledisloe Cup out-rated rugby league coverage on Nine on Friday night, AFL coverage on Nine on Friday night, and Tens coverage of the Australian Football League on Saturday afternoon and Saturday night, and Nines AFL and rugby league coverage on Sunday afternoon.
The Wallabies v All Blacks test scored an average network audience of 1,162,200 and dominated its timeslot in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth with 50% audience viewing shares and scoring strong audiences in two of the three AFL markets, Adelaide and Melbourne.
