What about a one off game at Lidcombe oval?

The tigers half of the merger get a few games at Leichhardt oval.

Maybe play just 1 game a year to coincide with retro round.

I know I know the ground isn't up to nrl standard but I don't think anyone would care for a one off game.

They still play junior league games there,so it's not completely dilapidated..

I reckon they would pack them in it would be standing room only.. imagine wests v Manly the old sivertails v fibros would be a fantastic retro round game.

In addition, how about Birchgrove Oval? Not only is it one of the heritage grounds, but alongside WIN Stadium and Central Coast Stadium, you'd have a 3rd ground near the water hosting RL matches

Great view for tv, Just for retro round great idea.

It would be good if the nrl could think outside the square.

Retro round.Birchgrove,Lodcombe,Henson,Kogarah,Leichhardt, Belmore and Brookvale.

Henson park would be unreal. I think when full holds about 30k. I stand to be corrected but I think I read that once.

yeah, agree about Henson. Henson can accommodate a larger crowd attendance compared to the other venues listed

Looks perfect...

Never too many shitty suburban grounds for this comp.

I'd love to see an NRL game at Henson but Birchgrove struggles to deal with the parking required to run a day of BJRL fixtures

Lidcombe Oval?! Sorry guys but have you actually seen Lidcombe Oval of late. It would not have anywhere near the facilities for the media, let alone any half decent facilities for a crowd at the ground. With no disrespect intended, Lidcombe Oval makes Leichhardt Oval seem like the Taj Mahal in comparison.

Fair enough.Use Henson park at first.Give Lidcombe a mini makeover get up to speed for a nrl game.Nothing major just improve the toilet facilities and you can always bring in temporary media facilities for the day.

Say bring back Lidcombe in a couple of years time.

Only one game a year.

North Sydney Oval is also large enough to host NRL games and yes it definitely has the nostalgia value being one of the oldest sports venues in Australia, but having visited it last week and had a walk around the ground, it is very run-down, especially the bathroom/toilet facilities. It's amazing that even state cricket matches (Matador Cup) are still played there. In the extremely rare case the Central Coast Bears were ever admitted into the NRL, there's no way they'd be able to play even the proposed 1-2 games/year there. Also unbelievable the ground somehow managed to cram in 23k vs Manly back in 1994.

Souths did play 2 games there in 2004/05 in the post North Sydney Bears era, but maybe the facilities were better back then, I dunno.

Yep just what the game needs, another 10k crowd in local park.

Now to be fair I think the women's AFL hosted a game there and they had 170, 000 fans in attendance so maybe the NRL just have to arrange the seating just right.
