Absolutely.
Nobody goes 26 undefeated.
So 7 rounds in.
Whats the opposite of a flat spot?
A high spot?

After 7 rounds. Name which game was our high spot. Can't say half a game. That doesn't count.

In which game have we put a lesser side to the sword and shown we are tough mean biggus dickus's in the mould of the Storm.
Or Penrith.
Or Gal/feefs/wade/Lewie.

I've obviously missed it.

I don’t reckon there’s been a high spot. I also don’t reckon that’s much of a problem at Round 7.

Let’s use recent history and the biggest dick swingers maybe of all time, Penrith 2024. 7 rounds in? 4 wins, 2 losses and a bye. Their best was a 22 win over a bludging Broncos team. Their other wins were
against such luminaries as Parramatta (8 point margin), Tigers (16 points) and the Roosters (6 points.) At the same point in the season we were top of the table and putting lowly teams to the sword.

I’m not trying to equate our team to the Panthers — the point in trying to make is that there’s a helluva lot of hyperbole about how we’re tracking this year… when we’re seven weeks in and a long way from the pointy end. If we get to round 27 and we haven’t lifted our tempo? Disaster of a season. But for now we’re doing fine.

I'm using our 2016 season as a comparison. A couple of floggings but quite a few close games and a flat spot. Plus the beaten by last years premiers in the first game who just so happened to be the ones who knocked us out of the finals the year before.

Probably a pointless comparison but meh (our 2016 shown below)

This is the point I can't stop coming back to.
We are 7 rounds in and not once this year have we shown anything to make me think "holy shit, we're the real deal".

Yesterday was an opportunity to show something and we largely fired blanks.

Everything going our way - a depleted Knights pack, heavily lopsided possession, one man advantage for 10 minutes - and we limp to a 20 point win.
Well woopdee f**king doo. 12 of those points were scored when the Knights were down a man (6 of them from an intercept).

I'll concede there were a few glimpses of better play, notably Brails' set up of WK's try, but really nothing to get carried away with.

It may be true that they are being held back for later in the year, but I'm not convinced.

As you said earlier, to have the one player capable of consistently causing headaches for the opposition reduced to 20 minute cameo appearances week after week is bewildering.
And it does nothing to convince me that the coach is not an Absolute Farquing Pillock (AFP™️©)
Sifa T is a first grader.
This guy has gone from playing 80 minutes in the centres and commentators salivating at his beautiful hands and damaging runs - to 20 minute cameos where commentators salivate at his damaging runs...but....no passing.
This is one of the headscratchers.

Sifas a lock. Or a centre. Maybe he's an Olsen Filipino type 6 to tricky trindall.
But he's our 13.

From Ron Coote, Kurt Sorenson, Brad Clyde to Pat carrigan and Isaiah Yeoh, the lock is a running linking damaging runner.
Captain Mac?....notta so much.

Anyways. Supporters are happy. We beat these teams. The knights and the Cowboys and that gets us into the 8.
Which means we probably beat the Tigs next weekend.
As long as they don't muscle up.

Did Gould make any mention of the Swinging arm from Kikau on Souths player - nothing to see here???He should have been gives ten in the bin to touch up his stupid hair cut with liquid paper.
Again the inconsistency is ridiculous. How many players have been sent to the bin in the tigers / parra game. Even that terrible bin decision sharks / knights game was nuts .

To me and what was indicative of our game and effort was when the wayward pass was dribbled back as we were attacking their line and there were about four of our boyz just scratching their arses and looking at the slow rolling ball.

The knights bloke just pushed his way through and dived on it.

It was pathetic as effort goes.
