Listening to video ref

Have to say it is good to hear the video ref talk through the decision and even better they decide it so quickly in UK, no need for 15 replays.

It is brilliant. Makes so much sense, and the commentators/media afterwards/fans can't bitch so much about calls that are explained straight away, while the relays are happening.

Bring it to the NRL, try to allay some of the toxicity toward the officials.

The first game video ref was great but the one in the Wales games mumbled his way through it.

It is in the NRL now though, isn't it? From memory it was implemented in the finals series. Don't know if it's permanent though. However, it's a great idea

Sort of.. In the NRL they make their explanation of the decision AFTER they made their decision where last night they were explaining everything they saw while showing the video replay and made their decision from there.

Maybe it's just a case that our video refs are geniused. Was Very insightful to hear the vid ref in the aus v eng game, logical, concise

Have to say having the one ref seems to actually create a faster more flowing game.

There were circa 20 penalties blown, and Henry missed heaps. The game was a wrestleathon.

It's a relic from the past that needs updating.

Was a big fan of the video ref talking through the process and would love to see/hear more of it

Yeah thought it was really good also.

Best thing about it in the NRL is that the morons like Rabs would have to stfu and listen instead of filling up the time with more whinging...

In the UK Super League, when the Video Ref was brought in, they did so on the proviso that they only had a few minutes (2 mins if I remember correctly) in which to review the footage and make a decision. As such this is probably why the UK video refs were quicker in making a decision in the World Cup games.

can be good, but doesn't stop someone pressing the wrong button / the wrong result being shown on big screen …..twice

It was a French official was it not? Maybe the buttons were not labelled in a language he understood fluently? :sarcasm:
