Little Bitch Game Day

Well, I've been critical but his stats say opposite

1st in run metres
2nd in all runs
5th in tackles made
2nd in offloads
15th in errors made
Rarely gets put down and turtled.
Fast PTB - 3.08 seconds in this game.

Most penalties
That's surprising. All I see is a bloke that kind of trots up to the defense, turns around and walks backwards a few metres.

Woods gets a bad wrap. People keep going back to his reverse gear days at the Tigers and Dogs and aren't watching him properly.

Been very good for us this year.
He makes yards well and can use the ball. His ptb is slow because tends to stand in tackles.

His defence is very patchy. Gets pinged for restarts.

When he is focused he can be very good. When he is trying to be a smart arse he can be a liability.

I thought he was ok, last week. Just sick of the penalties and laziness around the ruck. Needs to be a lot more consistent for the money he is on.

Well then old mate, stop watching backwards or watch from a different context where speed, in a prop, isn't the only thing that matters. The guy consistently has numbers like that but also, is hardly ever put on his back or turtled, usually drags 3 or 4 defenders in who try, gets really quick play the balls for a big fella, defends well for the most part, is a leader that young merks look up to and is a niggly, shitty merk at times who gets under the oppositions skin. He's a proper prop, maybe getting dated with the changes but way more effective than given credit for.

My only real concern is he is laterally compromised at times.

His PTB is not slow actually. 3.08 seconds in the Manly game. He averages 3.63 seconds. He's playing at 111 kilos and gets monstered every tackle. Smarter teams slow him down. Wade's PTB speed vs Manly 4.4 seconds. His average PTB speed is 3.93 seconds in comparison.

Is that for this season? I dare say wade is slower this season. He looks unfit and uninterested.

Since COVID Graham has played well in 1st half vs Tigers outside of that has not offered much at all.

I did notice in 2nd half vs Eagles was playing tighter in taking some hit ups.

The game is evolving with the 6 again, players will have to adjust, Graham started in halves changed into a backrower, maybe this new style could move into prop position

His measured ptb is not slow because he stands in many tackles, so doesn't have to get up. This doesn't capture the time the defence has to set because he stands in the tackle dragging the defence an extra metre or two. His carrys are generally good.

Lateral defence and discipline need improvement.

What about all the micro seconds Feef and Sharon save when they don't even put their foot to the leather in the play the balls. That swift tunnel ball roll is a game changer.

Wade as a prop? You've got to be joking.
