Not sure if there is a thread like this already and I am sorry if there is. Just thought there should be one so you guys can talk about shows you have been to or share the excitement of upcoming shows.

I guess I felt the need to have a thread like this because I have been to a few damn good concerts lately and a few more coming up.

Foo Fighters at Goldy was epic!

Arctic Monkeys rocked Brisbane's riverstage.

Heading to Incubus on Friday which I am so excited about because they are one of my all time favourites.

And of course the cherry on top - Soundwave 2012.

Recently did the Kasabian at the Hordern and then Soundgarden at Ent Cent,

Got SW 2012 in Feb, John Fogerty, Crosby Stills and Nash and John Butler coming up in April.

Went to Fooeys at SFS in December, top show, not as good as seeing them at Manning Bar earlier in the year though :p

Some quality punk bands right there! Have you seen Pennywsie with the new lead singer? That is most impressive with Lagwagon, I would love to see them next time they come out.

My most memorable shows are:

1. Jim White and John Doe @ The Corner Hotel 2009- John did "Poor Girl" and "Rank Stranger" (the latter cos I requested it!) and Jim was one of the most interesting musicians I have ever seen!
2. Social Distortion @ Soundwave 2011, Melbourne (they opened with "The Creeps". That alone constitutes that set being more awesome than both sideshows combined).
3. The Suicide Machines @ NEXT, Melbourne 2005 (singing along with Jay Navarro to "Islands" and "Your Silence" after he shoved the mic in my face).
4. Stray Cats, 2nd show, The Forum 2009- it was my 29th birthday. 'nuff said.
5. Flogging Molly and The Currency, 2nd show @ The Corner Hotel 2008- Bob Schmidt signed my banjo. Nicest man in rock & roll.
6. The Black Keys @ Falls 2004/05- bringing in the New Year. I had so much fun at Falls that year that I've never wanted to go back for fear I would have a better time than I did that weekend!

I'm going to Bad Religion, Strung Out and Street Dogs on the 27th in Melbourne then The Pogues in Sydney on April 11 at the Horden and I'll def go to Sick of It All and Agnostic Front in May

Yeah i saw them with Zoli at the roundhouse last year. I thought he was great. I think Pennywise are recording this year which im looking forward to.
Im a bit obsessed with Lagwagon. Im not sure if they will ever come back, Joey treats the band like a part time thing now.

Festivals
Big Day Out 2007-2009
Soundwave 2008-2010

Concerts
Placebo (2006)
Dragon Force (2007)
The Killers (2007)
Iron Maiden (2008)
The Smashing Pumpkins (2008)
Something With Numbers (2008)
The Who (2009)
Keane (2009)
Muse (2010)
U2 (2010)
Gorillaz (2010)

There we have it.

Best gig: Gorillaz - Amazing production and was just a really fun gig to be apart of - good audience participation and I really enjoyed the varied set.

Worst gig: U2. Ok, the productions were OUT OF THIS WORLD. But god damn I felt like I did more singing than Bono and it set me back $300 just to sit in the stands. Never let your friends by you tickets to gigs ever - $100 my ass.

*Queue condescending wanker tone*

I'd struggle to list my favourite gigs, let alone my overall attendance. But I'll give it a shot.

All-time favourite - Fondness for the artist and quality of the performance :

Belle & Sebastian - Sydney Opera House, 2011.
Sigur Ros - Horden - 2010
AC/DC - ANZ Stadium Sydney, 2010.
Elbow - Enmore, 2009
The Flaming Lips - Horden, 2009?
Yusuf Islam - Sydney Entertainment Centre, 2011.
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - Oxford Arts, 2011 & Enmore 2007.
The Finn Brothers - Sydney Opera House, 2006.
Grizzly Bear - Enmore, 2011.
Tenacious D - Enmore, 2005.
The Mars Volta - Horden, 2006.
Presidents Of The USA - Metro, 2006 (merely for nostalgic purposes.)
Rage Against The Machine - Sydney Entertainment Centre, 2008.
Seasick Steve - Metro, 2010.
Rammstein - BDO 2011 - Not a sideshow, but Rammstein were 90% of the reason I attended BDO that year.

Festivals :

Harvest Festival - 2011
Homebake - 2005,2006, 2007, 2011
BDO - 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010
Laneway - 2010
Peats Ridge Festival - 2010, 2011

Recent Standouts :

* Xavier Rudd @ Peats Ridge 2011 - Wasn't a fan of his beforehand. Merely shrugged him off as a poor man's John Butler. Holy f*ck was I wrong.

* Gotye @ Peats Ridge 2011 - Perfect way to avoid a NYE.

* Grinderman @ Homebake 2011 - three feet from Nick Cave during Grinderman's second last gig, bliss.
