Are you f**king serious??? Its never Grothes fault is it... first it was Wagon's fault when he was at centre, then Ben Smith, then Reddy, even Matt Cooper in Origin!!
Grothe is sh*te. For ever Try he scores he lets 4 in.
To be honest, blaming the last man or line of defence on the side often overlooks defensive problems closer to the centre of the field.
Sure, when there's a 1 on 1 mistake, or a failure to turn and chase a kick fast enough you might have a point. But when faced with a 2 on 1 the decision to come in or stay out will often never give a good result either way - the odds are stacked against.
It's like blaming the fullback for every try because they couldn't take all three players running at him that had gotten through the first line of defence.
The good thing is that Grothe and Reddy seem to be making up for any defensive leaks by scoring themselves. At the moment that's the best we can hope for, let's get behind them and ride the Eels home in this game!
