Finishes 1-1. Not sure what to make of that first half. Liverpool were running rampant, but tbh alot of that had to do with that fact that Sunderland were shambolic defensively. Second half was pretty stop-start.

Can't say I was too impressed with the whole hoof-it-up-to-the-big-man approach with Carroll, especially in the second half. I guess that's part of the double edged sword of having a target man up front.

That was a pretty dissapointing result.
Started the first half off great, it all fell apart in the second. Way too many fouls (from both sides), loose passes and looked like a different team.

I think our team needs time to gel, but once they do I think we'll do well. Charlie Adam was good if Carroll or Suarez had of got onto one of his corners and a few of his passes into the box we would of won. Like I heard on a tv commercial, it won't happen overnight but it will happen :D.

really liked Adams debut. We were robbed with Carroll's goal and Richardson should of been sent off in 6th minute.. Sunderland then would have had to sit back for the match. oh well no fabergas, nasri and gervinnio next week likely.. really liking our chances of grabbing the points there.

... Suarez had a shocking pen tho !! why didnt Adam take it... FORK !

I realise he is our "golden boy" at the moment, but if we are to wrestle back our position at the top, there must be no room for sentiment FROM DAY ONE.

You are right, one of the main reasons we bought Adam and his left foot was for situations like that! (Copa America or no Copa America)

Anyway, at least there were other no-score draws.

Can someone explain to me how Andy Carroll is worth £35m. Unbelievable.
I have no idea why we paid that much for him.

Prices aside, its like we did a straight swap with the sale money from Torres for Carroll and Suarez. That comforts me a little.

Yeh but that's because you struck gold with Suarez.

Andy Carroll will really struggle this year and seems like Liverpool are too inclined to just lob it up there for him.

Maybe N'Gog is the answer?

N'gog is average at best.
I won't write off Carroll just yet, give him at least half a season and see if theres any progress. He did win a few headers in the box, with adam and downing supplying him he's gotta start getting some on target.

I'd rather Kuyt playing up front then N'gog. A bag of cement that Charlie Adam and Stuart Downing can kick ball to would probably do a better job.

Werner had the cheque book open.. got him at the last day of transfer market and he had a long contract with newcastle. Im happy to give him time. Im sure when he gets a few games under his belt he will b banging them in like he was at newcastle. remeber he come to us injured and hasnt played that many games since. Oh and hes proven in the premier league..

Proven? He played half a season at Newcastle where he scored consistently, before that he spent most of his time in the Championship.

Has to be one of the biggest rip offs of all time, he is hardly worth £10mil right now. He is the eighth-most expensive footballer in history!!
