In premier league, Bryce Gibbs had completed his suspension the week before Wests Tigers had the bye. Wests Magpies (his premier league side) also had the bye but Balmain's premier league side did not.

So Gibbs was loanded to the Balmain side for one match to gain match fitness before returning to first grade the next week.

If Gibbs is dropped back to premier league at any stage this season I believe he'll return to the Magpies.

PL teams do it with Jim Beam cup sides. EG - Ben Yelavitch plays jim beam for Ourimbah in the centres but is signed with Wests but can't crack the PL side. A few Wests players are at Ourimbah and get called back up.

That would be a little different but, wouldn't it, in that Ourimbah is a 'feeder club' to Wests Magpies, in the same way that Wests Magpies is a feeder club to the Wests Tigers.

I don't see how it is all that different. Ben was signed from Cronulla and is playing for Ourimbah till he can get a spot in the Wests PL side. They have a relationship yes but if the roosters gave the knights Firman for eg then thats a relationship of sorts.
