Stats are ok but they are also misleading

Taking the first hit up is so much harder then the 4th. Also taking a hit up in the first 10mins you won't make as many meters as a guy who comes in fresh after 30.

In this structured day and age whole sets are planned. Teams will purposely get tackled 10m to the left of the posts by the halfback to get a quick play the ball and shift to that side with an overlap. In this instance a quick hit and up is what they want. The guy with the ball might have made 3ms but it's what he was meant to do.

I read today that the 20s coaches keep stats on meters after contact, that's a lot more important then pure meters made IMO.

By the way does anyone know if lodge is signed for next year too?

Our squad is looking very prop heavy

I thought Galloway was really good out there. Him, Woods, Ava & Tapau all add plenty to the squad. Gavat is also a weapon and Sue can be as well.

Gavet though needs to be a lot more disciplined.

You're just saying that because you're not used to the Tigers having adequate prop depth. What's the old saying? You need six props, two to start, two off the bench and two suspended.

I agree with your assertions but not conclusion, averages are great because they tend to smooth out the differences over time. They are a great indication if effort over time.

We have props coming out our asses at the moment. Some are rocks and diamonds but I believe we have enough depth for our Front Row rotations.

The back row is a worry, especially with Fulton retiring and Bodene off contract. If we need to sign anyone its a quality back rower.....anyone in England?

Maybe Lawrence can re-invent himself as a back rower?
