He was gone anyway, announced as a 'departing player' at the Grand Final luncheon weeks ago.

Whether good, bad or indifferent the sacking of Lodge may be the break Halatau is looking for. It may just free up enough money for the club to offer him a contract for next year.

I mentioned a guy by the name of Saulala Houma a few months ago. I have seen him play in the lower grades at the Sharkes a few time. I don't know whether he has been offered a contract for next year but he'd be an ideal replacement for Lodge.

Similiar build and skills as far as I could see...and probably a bit smarter between the ears so he could be worth the risk.

Any of you guys seen him play and have a comment?

It's been reported that he was on $175K with us.
