Report reveals criminal underbelly at Star casino

An investigation into Sydney's Star casino has revealed police concerns about criminal activity inside the gambling precinct.

Lawyer Gail Furness SC has completed a review of The Star to see if the casino's operators remain suitable holders of the licence.

A review is conducted every five years and provided to the state's Casino, Liquor and Gaming Control Authority.

"I have concluded that The Star remains suitable to hold the casino licence and that it is in the public interest that the casino licence should continue in force," Ms Furness says in her report.

But she has also raised several concerns, topped by criminal activity at the casino.

I saw someone hit a parked car tonight and take off without leaving their details. The other car stopped and the driver got out to assess the damage and to see if anyone was around that saw it. They took off but I managed to write down the rego. I was walking over to leave the rego details under the windscreen wiper and noticed the car had those special NRL licence plates and that is was a 50uff$ number plate. I laughed, screwed up the piece of paper, threw it away and walked off.

It's quarter to three on a saturday morning and just got out of a cab.. was talking footy with the cab driver (a victorian) and were discussing the storm rd 2 game vs souffs being delayed telecast..

He couldn't understand what was so special about pkaying souffs that meant the game got a special timeslot..
