Man charged with indecent assault - Pagewood

Police have charged a man with indecently assaulting an intellectually disabled woman at a south-eastern Sydney shopping centre.

The 30-year-old woman was sitting having a coffee at a café within the shopping centre at Pagewood just before midday today (Friday 3 August 2012), when she was approached by an unknown man.

The man allegedly kissed and cuddled the woman before trying to touch her inappropriately.

He then got up and walked away.

Police from Botany Bay Local Area Command were alerted to the incident and commenced inquiries.

As a result of thorough investigations, a 49-year-old man was arrested in Evans Avenue, Eastlakes, late this afternoon.

He was taken to Mascot Police Station and charged with aggravated indecent assault and conditionally bailed to appear in Waverley Local Court on Wednesday 29 August 2012.
