That was amazing. He was thinking about scoring it, not catching it then scoring it.

Surely you jest?

- Trent Barrett vs Canberra at Kogarah, Round 1 2004
- Russell Richardson (another Shark), who ran the length of the field and dropped it cold trying to put it down, I believe in a game against Souths

A similarly funny incident happened a number of years ago when Jason Williams from Canterbury crossed the line untouched, wasted time putting the ball down, and was tackled by David Boyle from Canberra and rolled onto his back and held up.

I remember that, that was an outstanding tackle.

What about jason bugarelli for Canberra, finals of 2003? late in game he chases a grubber thru untouched and just has to catch the ball and plant it down, Raiders one game from Grand final but the knuckle drops it

Justin Hodges drop the ball over the line in the 2006 semi final against the dragons , dont know how he did it, one of the easiest trys should have been scored
imo, that was harder than it looked

he was under a fair bit of pressure and had the corner post/side line to deal with

im still laughing. funniest thing ive seen on a football field this year

You are not wrong. I was there at the stadium last night and when he dropped that ball the whole crowd burst out in laughter. It will be on football bloopers tapes for decades to come.

Probably the NRL.com highlights will show it, other thsn that it'll be on the news most likely and it'll definitely be on tomorrow's footy shows.

He bombed another try too, and one the provious week. Im starting to see why so many sharks fans think he is a liability. He has no confidence, and his concentration seems to be gone. I think he will be one of those players that disappears.

Disappears with more than 100 first grade games as well, its an odd one. When I think of players 'disappearing' I think of trent clayton who had been in and out of first grade for a bit, had I think 1 or 2 good games in a row for penrith, then one absolute shocker, and then was gone. Simmons doesnt fit the mould, but I can still see him doing a clayton.

i remember people were saying the same thing about vatuvei 2 years ago..worst winger theyve ever seen couldnt catch a cold, he'll disappear etc etc look where vatuvei is now..
i could gladly say with the right attitude simmons should be sweet, not a great winger but he could be solid..if sharks win a game or 2 his confidence will rise..

He'll get plenty more opportunities this year. He's leading our try tally, and has just about been our best back this year.
