Damn that stubborn Teflon.

Benji Marshall set to play at halfback for the Wests Tigers
Benji Marshall will be playing at halfback for the Tigers this weekend. It will be the start of a new era at Leichhardt Oval tonight - superstar Benji Marshall wearing something other than the No.6 jumper for the Tigers.
As coach Tim Sheens attempts to kick-start the Tigers' campaign against the Warriors, Marshall will be shifted to halfback in what could be a long-term move for the perennial crowd favourite.
Marshall was informed this week by Sheens he would be shifting positions, and said he had virtually played as a halfback the past three seasons.
While Tigers fans will wonder how their side copes without Origin hooker Robbie Farah - and how well lightning-quick replacement rake Pat Politoni performs on debut - the real focal point will be Marshall.
"The coach just convinced me finally this week he wanted to change my number, which I wasn't that happy about at first," said Marshall, before he flashed a cheeky grin towards Sheens.
"At the end of the day it's my role in the team, that's my job, and I've pretty much been playing halfback the past three years, so nothing will change," he said.
After trialling Tim Moltzen, Jacob Miller and Tom Humble in the No.7, Sheens settled on Marshall and new five-eighth Chris Lawrence. Marshall is no stranger to playing halfback, but spent the past few years at five-eighth.
"We wanted Marshall closer to the ball, the No.7 has certainly been a problem for us, and that's been well documented," Sheens said.
"Benji plays that role anyway, and whoever plays No.7 with Benji doesn't see much ball. It's the same with Johnathan Thurston, (former player) Darren Lockyer, Cooper Cronk where you have a dominant six or seven in the game. Having a running five-eighth in Chris gets him more ball, and you need the best players to touch the ball more often," he said.
Marshall, who has played with 15 different halves partners since his 2003 debut, said of teaming up with international Lawrence: "I can see him there (at No.6) long-term. He's one of the best talkers I've seen, he loves getting his hands on the ball and one of the greatest runners. He's a bit like Greg Inglis, he was in the centres where he got limited ball, and being such a great runner of the ball, the more he gets it in his hands the better he'll be.
"Chris likes organising out wide. He's mainly a runner of the ball, and although he can pass and kick, it's my job to organise what happens to the forwards and ruck, Chris stands out wide and when he wants it we swing it to him."
The Tigers won three on the trot before last weekend's bye and, said Marshall, needed to work on attack if they wanted to stay in touch with the top eight.
Marshall linked with Shaun Johnson for New Zealand during the Anzac Test, and has plenty of respect for the Warriors No.7.

Ten rounds into the NRL campaign, Wests Tigers admit they are still yet to find the right winning formula with coach Tim Sheens tinkering with his 'spine' for the seventh time this year.
Number of occasions Wests Tigers have used each 'spine' combination this season

Three times:
1. Moltzen, 6. Marshall, 7. Humble, 9. Farah

Two times:
1. Humble, 6. Marshall, 7. Moltzen, 9. Farah

Just once:
1. Tedesco, 6. Marshall, 7. Moltzen, 9. Farah
1. Moltzen, 6. Lawrence, 7. Marshall, 9. Humble
1. Moltzen, 6. Lawrence, 7. Marshall, 9. Farah
1. Moltzen, 6. Marshall, 7. Humble, 9. Fulton
1. Moltzen, 6. Marshall, 7. Miller, 9. Fulton
Yeah what a 'super-coach'

But wait there's more,

DRAMA addicts hanging on a sequel to last year's Tim Moltzen affair will be disappointed to learn the Tigers are very close to doing the right thing and re-signing the utility.

But we keep hearing dual international Lote Tuqiri will be hard pressed to get a decent new offer after an injury-plagued 18 months.

So, lets assume young Tedesco recovers well and is back for pre season training and Rd 1 next year, after all, it was Rd 1 this year that his season sank, anyway, where does that leave Humble, Utai, Ayshford, etc as surely the super-coach will want Moltzen as his bench warmer

Ruining one of the worlds best pivots, slowly eroding the career of the best up and coming centre this club has ever seen and re-signing a useless timid prick which will spoil the development of yet another junior adding to a ever growing list of such incidents.

He really just needs to re-sign Lote now and let Koro and Noafoluma go and his destruction of this team will be complete

How about instead of bitching about it on the forum we get to the western concourse and give it to Sheens all game. I cannot wait until the inept prick rides off into the sunset.

Sadto say but I reckon it has just about come to this. I cant as I'm in PNG for the next couple of years but maybe complaints to the CEO if we get our backsides smacked tonight?????? Sheens and his 'inspiration' is wrecking this clubs competitiveness.

It is dead set criminal, even Kearney hasn't produced selection shockers like this,we are winning in spite of the idiot coaching us,but for how long, where are these so called media experts, why is this clown not answering for his inept selections.

I hear through the Grapevine that Chisholm and Sheens don't get on.

Another great young talent will be lost there, f**k I'm sick of this old merkin!

To rephrase the title of a TISM song

"I might be a 'so-called' fan, but at least I'm not a f**king merkin like Tim Sheens"

I'm gonna write up something for public viewing and spam f**k out of it everywhere and send it to WT as well. I can't put up with this shit anymore.

f**king fed up!

If the great experiment is to have Benji at half and Lawrence at five eighth, then what is Anasta meant to be doing next year? Supposedly he's coming to the club to play in the halves. Someone is going to have the shits.

Anasta has repeatedly stated how he hates playing in the forwards.

He's signed with us, most likely on the proviso that he would be the 6.

Hence why Benji has been working on his passing game and now, being shifted to 7.

benji's game was fine as it was, a bit erratic at times, but that just made it harder to get on top of him, because if he made a few mistakes and you decided to take the pressure off him, he'd come good and destroy you in very quick time.

Now he doesn't run at the line, he drifts sideways and when a hole doesn't open up, he just palms the ball off to a flat footed player standing out wide, like a centre, winger or Bludging Blair.

Sheens has successfully turned a fleet footed attacking (one of the very few that actually plays what is infront of him) 5/8th into a halfback whose vast talents are virtually nullified. This is compounded by moving Lawrence a straight hard running hole man into a waste at 5/8th.
The main question is :- When will the sloths on the tiger board awake from their slumber and take overdue action in sacking Sheens. The St.Helens board had enough balls (tigers board devoid of this important appendage) in sacking their non performing coach and instilling some much needed organisation and guidance. Time is UP.

Sheens must have taken some juicy odds about us not making the 8 or he is in a mental state. Cant think of any other explanation why a coach would play two great players out of the position they have dominated in for a few years.

Hate to see our mob not win or not compete, but their a part of me who would like to see a complete capitulation for the rest of the season so Sheens is flicked, but of course it will never happen because he is a NRL icon and we are bloody lucky to have him and he is solely responsible for the wins and devoid of any responsibility for any negative results
