Well that actually hasn't been the case. Fans, particularly on here and active on social media treated it as a done deal and caused by issues with coach/club etc. As he's pointed out, the comment was that Bud actually didn't want to leave. If you take that at face value, it sounds like the whole thing was concocted by his manager through a deal between him and Gould.

Additionally, if you are to believe comments from others on here where people have spoken to the boys, they suggested that Bud had no intention of signing with the dogs.

But of course, these things get ignored and everyone jumps on the media bandwagon to bag the club at any chance they get. Not saying they don't deserve it sometimes, but it just becomes a frenzy and a lot of it based solely on the word of a journalist.

People will believe anything journos write if it suits their agenda. When it came out that both players had rescinded their request, some journo wrote that it was because they'd been promised Griffin wouldn't be coach, so the forum ran with that, because again it suited their agenda.

The Mole is back at it again with the young Broncos 5/8th, and automatically people believe it. Apparently the club lied to him and guaranteed a 1st grade spot to a 17 yo, so now he's got mental health issues and needs to be released or he will go to union. Then the Broncos put out their statement, and it looks like it's a case of a player agent wanting his cut of a contract for his new client.

Agents do this shit in sports all over the world, and yet still people fall for it.

HAHAHAHA....

Some of the shit that gets posted in here at times is completely laughable. Now that Bud and Tyrell have decided to stay, a line up of the usual Griffin apologists are coming out and saying that they never wanted to leave and they never had a problem with the coach and it was all made up. Apparently it was all just 'fake news' and the boys love Griffin and his coaching and never questioned their place in the team and their role going forward. It was all just sunshine and rainbows...

Give me a break...

These two did put in formal requests, to the club, to leave you know. In Sullivan's case they made multiple requests. This is acknowledged by the club...

Do you seriously think that a player manager would put in a formal request for a player release without their player knowing about it? How long do you think those practices would keep that manager employed and their reputation intact among the player community? If Bud and his family didn't intend on leaving wouldn't he have just put it to bed immediately, before a second request was made?

But yet we have posters, whose usual schtick is to denounce journalists when they report things that don't coincide with their narrative of how great a job the coach is doing, are now endorsing commentary from posters on an internet forum and taking their words as gospel when it suits them.

It truly is like the twilight zone in here at times...

I dont think it was the request for the release that was the issue, we all knew possibly why, it was the reason being mental health that most people found it a bitter pill to swallow.

The Dragon’s are a pretty soft target at the moment so of course journalists will smash us whenever possible.

I think the kid in Brisbane changing managers & now wanting more money or a release even though he’s signed a contract is a good example of the entitlement gen z players feel. Expect a lot more of this, times are changing.

The only people living in the twilight zone are people who post articles by the likes of the Mole and James Hooper and claim they are fact.

People were calling it a ploy by the manager and the Bulldogs to pressure the Dragons for weeks, people like you just didn't want to believe it because then you couldn't criticise the club.

Good post justa...at least you’re capable of admitting that they both, at a time, were seeking a release. You’re already ahead of a few, when it comes to dealing with reality, in here.

You’ve even got people, still making out that, it was a scheme concocted by Bud’s manager and Gould to put pressure on the dragons, and inferring that Bud never wanted to leave, even on the back of the evidence in this article...

Where Bud tells the story that there was a breakdown of communication with the coach and that he wasn’t learning much coming off the bench for two minutes. He then goes into talking about conversations he had with Tyrell, talking about did they "really want to do this", obviously referring to them leaving their junior club. This is obvious to anyone, except posters looking to offer up excuses (cough @Maximus @True_Believer cough) for the mess around these two and their contractual status. He basically goes into the reasons as to WHY he a Tyrell WERE SEEKING RELEASES. These are BUD’S words, not the rantings of a internet nobody.

He basically makes posters who post this excuse ridden dribble

lol!! He's basically saying they didn't want to do it and insinuating that he wasn't driving the release requests. Which, if you were able to read and understand what I actually posted (obviously beyond your intelligence levels), was what I was saying.

Mate seriously, get out and get some air. Your negativity towards the club is stinking up the place.

Sloan and Sullivan weren't quite ready for first grade and both need more time to develop certain skills. Max Feagai has had a run of injuries which limited his readiness for first grade.

When these players are ready and when a vacancy occurs in first grade, they should get their chance again.
