Losing patience

Well we had the chance to silence correct or incorrect rumours about the club, and the team only achieved to intesify media rumours at their will.

Whether or not the recent stuff is true, I have no idea, but it seems atleast they have been talked into a crisis.

The performance was terrible, and I was a terribly frustrated and upset supporter. I'm just losing patience with the inconsistency an failure to deliver. Sure we had a few out, but we are capable of far better.

Defence was diabolical, we got a bit lucky with some tries in the second half, and if it were not for O'Mealey and SBW going off, who knows what the score could have been. Sure we had some players missing, but 3 players should not make that much of a difference to the team.

Honestly I could see a poor start coming given the pre-season form, but it was even poorer than I anticipated, and that hurts no end. You can't defend that way and expect to compete with the top teams. They just don't play like a tram capable of winning a comp, they showed glimpses of it last season, but more of the same old problems surfaced. We will be battling the wooden spoon based on that effort.

I'm starting to lose patience with it all, sad thing is its only first round and already I see doom and gloom for the reaminder of the the season. I've been a patient supporter but now it's getting testing.

The players need to take a look at themselvesm not the coach.

On a positive, Ennis is a massive gain at hooker, strengthens that position immensely. Shame the rest of his established team mates dont shape up the same. :x

Yeah it was the same old rubbish from last year! Where was the defence? It reminded me of the last game of last year against penrith. We show nothing in attack.....just stand still then crab across the field. There seems to be no game plan, or they are not following if there is one. No intesity, no purpose no defence!

Colin Best.......oh dear!! Bring back Tingha!!!!

i am sooo disapointed right now :(

Is it a co-incidence that rumours surrounding our club have intesified since the return from England of a former player who was known for rumour-mongering??

Hmmmmm...

Our defence wasn't too bad, at least not in the first twenty minutes when they blitzed us, the Bulldogs attack was just red hot. No team could have held out under that kind of pressure, I thought we defended our line admirably. The real killer was the stupid turn-overs we continued to make giving them such good field position.

We let in some soft tries in the second half though, everytime we started threatening to come back into the game we'd shoot ourselves in the foot.

Don't forget we had the second best defence in the competition last year. We're not going to be playing the premiers in what was possibly their peak form every week. Really this is why I'm glad we met the Bulldogs first up. Springing an upset would have started things off well but getting blown out has shown us what level we have to aspire to, with virtually the whole season still remaining.

Your team kept on trying, then never gave up which must be a big positive for you.
Yeh it is, and I am quite surprised we could score 6 tries! Only 2 less than the dogs, i don't think another team will score 6 tries against the dogs for another 10 games.

Yeah we scored after the game was virutally over at half time 28-0. The dogs went to sleep and we scored a few tries. They scored at will. Our defence was pathetic!

Our defence was fine, the Dogs played amazingly.
Ennis was great; a revelation.
The boys never put there heads down

But we need a goal kicker of at least average quality.

Why cant they just play the way the did second half in the first half.

All in all, i was happy with the gane - its only round 1, and hopefully we can learn from it.

Bring on Melbourne @ WIN

my god he was discracefull. hopelessly out of position all night. dropped the ball in his own quater. got bundled into touch instead of running dead (although that wasnt really his fault).
the only thing worse was the try on half time to the dogs. who was the number 5 who got baboozled by a nearly walking tony grimaldy who strolled over the tryline?

Our ball security was poor, and yes it did get us into trouble, but there were way too many soft tries conceeded. Can' afford to conceed those types of tries if we think we are a hope of the title.

If the bulldogs did play outstanding football, we gotta be able to repel that pressure, or else we may as well say Bulldogs too good, let's go home season is over. It's crap, no matter how we play we need to be able to aim up, we have proven it in the past.

They got on a roll cause we allowed them to get on a roll with soft defensive efforts, they literally walked over the line at times....that's no first grade NRL defence. There was no muscle or fire up form us, they lakced enthusiasm.

I'm annoyed at the moment wit the effort, sign of a side in for a long year, not a side that has been fired up in the off season to do btter (as certain articles on this forum have appeared over the pre season).

A side's pre season results can tell alot about how focussed they are...and they didn't look focussed at all to me.

As i say, I wish some of the players had the ticker Ennis showed, he is the one exception to the rule.

Ennis was great. He even looked enthusiastic running out.

Does any one know if Willie MANU worked up a sweat?

Get rid of him and find some more Corey PAYNE'S!!!!!
