Edinson Cavani has a 55mil EUR release clause and Napoli's chairman won't sell him for much under that.

Cavani signed a new contract at the start of the season. It's not happening.

Unless we win the lottery and become a "big club" like that pair of plastic blue fcks are it's not going to happen.

meh, whatever.

You tell yourselves that and i'm sure you will be alright. Second half you were ace. That string of wonder saves Hart made must keep you warm at night.

i asked a simle question because i was curious, if you don't have the capacity to answer then just shush and keep dreaming of Gourcuff or something.

Champ, if you wanna argue we can argue. You're the way that shat his pants when you ran into Boxhead the other day so I don't know how keen you are to do that though.

I said the second half was alright. I didn't say anything about dominating them or forcing Hart into anything spectacular.

If the only way you think you can one up someone is by putting words into their (not there)* mouth you're (not your)* a bigger fckwit than (not then)* I thought you were.

*Write these down so you don't f**k them up everytime you try and form a sentence.

who wants to argue? I asked you a question about where your f*cking fullbacks play.

By the way, just in case anyone else ever asks in the future, fullbacks traditionally play on the right and left of the defence. If you are still unsure, last Sunday this was Gibbs (left hand side) and Sagna (right hand side).

Now you can calm down next time someone asks a technical question.

If you insists on being mr English teacher...

We can afford to pay him whatever Napoli are paying him. We're apparently going to pay Walcott as much as 120k a week.

The wages part of the equation isn't the real problem. It's transfer fees. We insist on making a profit on those. Can't see us spending 30 million to get Cavani unless we sold Wilshere the same day.

Yes but of he moves he won't be on what Napoli are paying him.

I doubt he would be on 120k a week in the prem. Closer to double that.

Reports say you have a 'war chest' so you could probably afford 30 million. The problem you have is every time a player worth that comes on the market City, Chelsea, Real and PSG get interested and the wages go up and up.

Instead of Cavani, i'd go for Jovetic from Fiorentina, or Higuian from Real. On the short term, Klose from Lazio. They should be more affordable and deliver the attacking threat you need.

Jovetic is a good shout. Not too keen on Higuian or Klose though. Not saying they wouldn't improve us, but if we are going to spend 15-20 mill on a player I'd rather it be Jovetic.

Don't usually have much sympathy for you mob, but Martin Atkinson is killing you at Stamford Bridge. Two abominable decisions, two goals.

Our defence was frail but neither should have been a goal.

A blatant free should have been given to Coquelin. If that foot was a couple cm's in a different direction and his leg would have gone. Much much much softer frees were given to both teams all game.

And the penalty was an obvious slip. Ches dived straight down, once he was already on the ground and not in motion the Chelsea moron fell over.

We were the better team in the 2nd half and didn't deserve to leave there with 0 points.

BUT we still have many things to improve on. Need 2-3 signings.

Arsenal 5-1 West Ham.

Apparently Ramsey had a blinder in a CM role. It's about time Wenger stopped experimenting him as a winger.

Great 10 minute period... 4 goals.. West Ham couldn't compete with that.

Bad injury to Potts compounded it later on.

Gunners were just too good..

I feel dirty saying that..

Winning by 4 goals, has killed sny chance we had to sign a pure Dm, so my dream of signing Sven Bender, Capoue or Tiote is dead.

3 -2 to the gunners overnight in the FA Cup.

First Half

The start to the game was fairly drab from both sides. I expected Brighton to start the game well, but they didn't seem too confident about taking the game to us and stood off us more than they should have. For us, I thought we started a bit sloppily, giving away the ball one too many times and didn't settle into any sort of rhythm.

Our first goal came on the counter attack. Rosicky took the ball down the right hand side, passed it across the box to Podolski who simply laid it off for Giroud to curl into the top corner from just outside the area. Easily the best goal he's scored as an Arsenal player this season.

Unfortunately, Arsenal didn't push on from there. Their build-up was often too slow and one too many players weren't involved enough or having off games; usually, the guys who hadn't played that much recently like Jenkinson, Diaby, Rosicky and Chamberlain.

One particular problem area was our left flank, manned by Andre Santos and Podolski. Santos looked completely lost no matter what he was doing. More often than not, he was disconnected from the rest of the back four and pressed and tracked the wrong man. Him and Podolski had zero understanding. Podolski also tracked the wrong man a couple of times while Santos made no effort to make overlapping runs.

Brighton quickly recognised this weakness and focused almost all their play down that side. They created a couple of decent chances by doing so and won a corner that lead to their first equaliser.

The defending for that corner was non-existent. As the ball comes in, six Arsenal players standing on the edge of the six yard box do nothing. Two Brighton players get in behind completely unchallenged. Szczesny comes and waits for the ball, rather than challenging for it. The result, inevitably, was that the Brighton player beat the keeper to the ball and they equalised.

Second Half

The second half wasn't much of an improvement from either side. Brighton weren't much of a threat and we still hadn't managed to put a decent passing move together.

We found a way a goal, though, eventually. Diaby clipped a long ball into the path of Giroud, who took it down excellently before finding the back of the net. Another high quality goal from him and his fourth this week.

But Arsenal being Arsenal let Brighton back into the game. They attacked down our left again and Andre Santos did absolutely nothing to prevent the cross. The cross ended up being a very good one and Ulloa, who Mertesacker should have been marking, scores a simple tap in.

Wenger responded by bringing on Wilshere and Walcott and our general play improved a bit. We had better control over the game in the last few minutes and managed to get the winner when Walcott's shot was deflected in.

Performance secondary to progression

Usually, I would be criticising the fact that our performance dropped from mid-week but with five key players rested it's not surprising we didn't play as well. Guys like Diaby and Rosicky are very rusty and need games, while Jenkinson and Chamberlain haven't played in a while. Santos is a bad player lacking fitness, so he was always going to be a disaster.

The defensive errors are nothing new, unfortunately, so I won't go on about them.

Ultimately, the most important thing was progressing to the next round. We managed to do so, albeit making harder work it than necessary, without the need of a replay. Nothing much to complain about, really.

Happy that Diaby A) survived and B) managed to chip in with a nice assist.

We're still frail at the back. Our centrebacks are alright at keeping the ball out in general play but set pieces and crosses are kryptonite.

I feel we're still missing a commanding CB that is effective week in and week out. Also Santos is awful. We need another LB.

First Half

To save time, I'll just examine the goal we conceded.

Liverpool attempt to thread a ball through to Johnson, but it's easily spotted and Sagna makes a move to intercept... only, he somehow loses his footing. So Johnson is now in behind our defence. That's not good.

Johnson plays a good cross, right across our six yard box. Vermaelen comes steaming in to clear it, but then absolutely misses the ball. The ball reaches Sturridge, who's finish is poor/denied by a decent save from Szczesny.

The ball comes out to Ramsey, who fails to clear it on the edge of the box. Suarez runs onto the ball and has his shot deflected in off Mertesacker.

Sagna's slip you could say was unfortunate, but Vermaelen's failed attempt at a clearance and Ramsey's failed attempt at a clearance was poor.

The rest of the half isn't worth mentioning. Arsenal managed a few decent attempts at goal; Walcott had two attempts - one a very good strike that was curling into the far corner - saved well by Reina, and Giroud managed a powerful header but couldn't direct it either side of Reina. Other than that, Liverpool defended pretty well and looked threatening on the counter with our defence just being a pile of crap.

Second Half

For fifteen or so minutes, it didn't look like Arsenal were going to turn up this half. Liverpool were still defending well, keeping a good shape and countering. They got their second goal after some more terrible defending.

Henderson finds himself in acres of room on the right hand side and drives into the Arsenal penalty area. Mertesacker's attempt at winning the ball back is crap. Santos is easily brushed aside, which was also crap. Ramsey actually wins the ball with a challenge, but the ball happens to hit Santos and roll back into Henderson's pass who has the simple task of finishing past Szczesny.

It's good persistence from Henderson (insert adage about making your own luck here), but it's a goal that any amount of competent defending would have dealt with.

At this point, I didn't think we'd come back, simply because we had not been good enough and Liverpool were playing very well. They were well organised and worked very hard to make sure that Walcott and Podolski didn't get in behind too often and that we couldn't take better advantage of Giroud's layoffs.

The goal changed things, though. It may have just been the shock of us scoring from a set-piece, but we gained a lot of confidence while Liverpool seemed to panic slightly. We were beginning to open up more spaces with quicker passes and better movement, with Giroud at the centre of most of our attacks. He was instrumental in our equaliser, laying the ball off for Walcott, who had ghosted in behind, to smash into the far corner. Walcott and Giroud have combined very all season and it's starting to look like a fruitful partnership.

Arsenal had chances to win the game. Giroud, running onto the ball, headed over from a corner when he really should have scored. He missed a more guilt-edged chance later on, when some more excellent play saw Podolski in behind to play it across goal. Unfortunately, Giroud couldn't get his feet sorted out and missed the chance completely.

At the other end, some more calamitous defending almost gifted Liverpool the winning goal.

2-2 in the end. Probably a fair result.
